80s anime-inspired TIE Fighter fan film

Post by usamimi »

Ok so Nitro showed me this and I was kind of blown away--someone spent 4 YEARS drawing their own fan film based on the old Star Wars TIE Fighter game, heavily inspired by 80s anime!

I'm seriously blown away that this was all made by ONE guy! He really put a lot of love into this, and you can definitely see the 80s anime influence in it. For a one-man operation, I think he did a pretty fantastic job!

I often forget about this section of the forum. Yes, I've seen this video before. It is pretty fantastic! Too bad this guy knows how to make kick-ass anime better than most of what is being made by Japanese animation studios these days...

Right?? A lot of fans of the newer looks that are more popular now try to say that it's "too hard" for animators to do that old-school look with computers, but c'mon--if ONE GUY can do it on his computer, I'm sure that professional animators could do it, too. ;) lol
