Awesome pics, Char! I saw some photos from friends on Twitter/instagram, but none this detailed. I LOVE the retro packaging! So cool!

The animation quality is just spotty, so maybe Tomino is just ashamed of how it turned out? Even if he is nationalistic and racist, it certainly is not to the same degree as the buttholes on the Anime Nation forum can be at times.
Great! More stuff for me to look for. Was this cut from the aired broadcasts in Japan after the initial run or was this also broadcast with reruns?

Found 2 tapes with episodes 1-7 and 8-14. I thought I had another with other episodes on it but I can't remember. I do wish I had kept the old database program but it only ran on an antiquated version of D0S and won't run on modern Windows computers. Found some other ultra rare stuff like the Queen Millenia/Dr. Slump crossover special which I bet few people remember. Still looking...

Stymied once again! Found the database but its on a 3.5" disc and I no longer have equipment that can read that format. I had an old Thinkpad but the power supply is toast. Used my Asus supply but the computer won't power up. That's it for tonight. Tomorrow I'll see if one of the local shops can transfer the files to a flash drive for me...

I'm not so sure that the Dr. Slump/Queen of a Thousand Years thing was actually a crossover special so much as 'crossover interstitials', commercial eyecatches to lead in and out from one to the other. I recall seeing one on some Dr. Slump episodes taped off Japanese broadcast.

Ah, Fuji TV, how you used to do so many things. :)

I would really hope Discotek could pick up Queen of a Thousand Years TV. I'm not holding my breath but you know, given the OTHER completely impossible shows they've picked up, who knows?

It's one of the tapes I never got around to transferring. If it's anything other than little segments, I'll cap them and post them somewhere you can watch them. Maybe I'll do those mini segments too. Might as well, no?

Got the database program off the discs. Just have to put them into the XP computer to see if I can get them to work. They were in a box labelled Windows 3.11, so it's old stuff...

I think those Slump/Millenia things are also extras on the Toei OP/ED DVDs they came out with a while back. They're pretty groovy.

Was just at Toei's website but I couldn't find those discs. Maybe out of print? Would be nice to see them on DVD rather than off tape.
