Streamline Pictures
Cartoon Research just recently posted a Part 1 of a great article all about Streamline Picture's roots, complete with analog photos! http://cartoonresearch.com/index.php/st ... es-part-1/
Since it's labeled as "Part 1", I hope this means it'll have at least 2 or 3 more parts. This was such a fun read.

Re: Streamline Pictures
Thanks for posting this! I can't wait to read the article when I get some free time tonight or tomorrow. I recently listened to a podcast from several years ago where Carl Macek was interviewed, and it was incredible hearing about distribution in those early days of bringing anime to home video.

Should be a fun read. Good to see Fred still at it.

I'm reading the article now. Didn't Fred Patten get an account on this forum?

This is a fantastic article. I'm so very looking forward to the next installment(s)! I'm especially curious about the end of the company as well; while the folded, I thought several properties of theirs got sold off (in almost the first type of 'license rescue' we're familiar with today) but I don't recall anything being done with them.

Charles Brubaker's regular Lost Planet Anime column is also worth reading regularly in addition to Fred Patten's columns on that site. Well, all of the articles on that site are worth reading if you're an animation fan in general.
