I have one disc with playback issues, I have two copies of Moldiver 1 because my first went bad. No obvious issues on them.

Laser rot, huh? I haven't actually seen a disc with visible rot, I know it happens on some of the cheaper platters and causes them to come apart.

from what I understand "laser rot" is when the reflective layers start to oxidize, resulting in static during playback. I have a LD of 'What's Up Tiger Lily" that's just about unwatchable due to this.

I know the audio on some of my James Bond laserdisc movies have this annoying static sound that appears in certain areas where you can't even hear what is being said by the characters.

This is from memory - I have many more in several milk crates and record boxes to be added. The Maison Ikkoku LD24, Dirty Pair box, 2 of 3 GE999 TV boxes, and Ghibli Ga Ippai boxes are a few highlights. Gatchaman complete TV series box is huge, with great original art on each sleeve. Also have the Oniisama E "Dear Brother" series on the pictured gatefolds, complete with poster omakes.

NICE! A true LD collector, and not a hack like me! Oniisama E, huh? Were you involved with the Techno Girls?

My LD collection hasn't grown much since this post here: viewtopic.php?p=8684#p8684

A year or two ago, I added a random Lodoss disc (which thankfully doesn't have laser rot; Lodoss are notorious for it, I've heard), random Rose of Versailles, Umi ga kikoeru, and Royal Space Force box set. They're pictured here, with a bunch of other stuff I got the same weekend: viewtopic.php?p=14817#p14817

One of these days, I'll get around to an LDDB account and start looking stuff up there.

Pic didn't load for whatever reason.

AWA, huh? I have always meant to go to that, and never have. When I lived in Chattanooga I used to go to their cons, I live in the Birmingham area now, and rarely attend our local cons. Last one I went to was OmegaCon, which while fun was a fiasco.

OtakuJoe's is the only dealer that has vinyl and laserdisc anime stuff, its where i've been spending most of my money at if I see him at a con. He might still come to Animazement but not really sure, but hes a sure bet for AWA, that con and its attendees are up his ally in selling things they want.

Hey Moonsaber, did you go to the late 1990s Birmingham convention "Temporal Disturbance?" That one was run by a friend of mine in the area. I spent a lot of time in the B'ham area visiting them, going to their anime club meetings, and the occasional DeepSouthCon. Now that I live up north I don't get to visit nearly as much, but I've had some fun times in Birmingham.

I hear good things about the Huntsville anime convention, but I've never been myself.
