The old-school anime DVD/BD news thread.

I guess you can't edit a post here? But that first link is Space Runaway Ideon.
Re: The old-school anime DVD/BD news thread.
Definitely excited about Ideon and Xabungle. Need to keep those Sunrise 80s stuff coming, especially more Ryosuke Takahashi real robot stuff.

Discotek is releasing Kimagure Orange Road on Blu Ray, with the first volume available March 26th! So long out of print, and a foundation of modern anime.
Volume 1 is all the TV series, with Volume 2 containing Movie 1, and the OVAs, date not yet announced.

I already have it on pre-order.
Means I may never watch my LDs/DVDs of it again... well.. yes I will, and you can't beat the liner notes and extras of the AnimEigo releases.
I was hoping AnimEigo was doing the Blu-Ray, but apparently not. They ARE doing Gunsmith Cats, though!

Is there such a thing as Too Much Anime?
Re: The old-school anime DVD/BD news thread.
I've been wanting a re-release of KOR forever and now that it's happened I haven't even preordered it. I'm gonna fix that today...

Rock on!
Yeah, I am a fan of Rightstuf, they do things right... huh, might be part of the name even.

Discotek announced over the weekend at Anime North they'll be re-releasing the complete Sorcerer Hunters anime in standard def on BD, with added Japanese promos and trailers subtitled for the first time. They also got the Lupin III: The Last Job special, and a few newer titles that aren't probably as interesting to folks on this board lol.

Funimation is releasing a new steelbook bluray edition of Yu Yu Hakusho! http://shrsl.com/1nn6c Description also mentions a new "Looking back on a legacy" featurette/documentary on it. I'm hoping these new versions end up having the missing other movie Funimation didn't release, and maybe the new OVA series too!
