Original Urusei Yatsura on blu-ray is definitely huge news. Particularly the first 106 episodes if you're an Oshii completionist. I've only watched about 25 episodes of the original series (various random volumes of the Animeigo discs), so having an unbroken run of the entire series would be huge.

I'd imagine the price is gonna be well over 100 bucks to own. It's one of those I can get it on a future Right Stuf sale for about half off or so. It's on my radar for sure.

They said it would be over 4 sets, so i guess it would be around 48-49 episodes a set? I’m tempted to compare it to their other 40-50 episode or so boxsets, but i don’t believe they’ve ever had a series this long in full HD either?

Fist of the North Star they were able to do SDHD and put that in a bluray set, I'm sure they can do the same with this, if not later down the road after releasing the sets individually in chunks.

For sure. But I would assume that because this is true HD materials they are working with (not SDBD or upscaled like GE999 TV) tone big 194 episode HD set would be hella expensive.
