Anime North is back this month! Last year was the first year back after COVID and it was pretty crowded; I can only imagine how nuts this one is going to be. Here's what I'm up to!
a retrospective of the anime films of 1983!
a Leiji Matsumoto memorial panel!
Anime Hell
an afternoon of currently unlicensed classic anime!
bad American comics based on or ripping off Japanese anime and manga!
and Neil & Mike return with Totally Lame Anime and Korean Bootleg Anime, all Saturday night!
Plus lots more fun and frivolity, all happening in four weeks at https://animenorth.com/

I really liked your Anime from 1983 Let's Anime article, I'd love to see the panel, too. That Classic Anime Afternoon sounds like fun, too. Have a good show!

Re: Anime North 2023
we're a week out from Anime North and the general feeling is it went really well. Record breaking numbers, beautiful weather, a big, good-natured crowd full of positive energy, and we only needed the backup generator once on Sunday (some power company issues). I masked up inside - the full N95 for the vendors hall - and so far, so good - I haven't heard any reports of COVID or even con crud, really. I spent a few shifts working doors and lines with the Panels staff and I really enjoyed being there on the front lines, answering questions, helping panelists, and generally being in the thick of things.
