I've been so busy I haven't been able to read much lately, but I did sit down to resume a series I'd unfortunately forgotten the place of: Tsuki no Ko by Shimizu Reiko, a fantastical scifi epic that involves fish, princesses, gender swapping, Chernobyl, and the end of the world?! Well, I somehow lost my place so I'll simply go back to the start. It's a really charming work that caters directly to me. Anything with scifi AND fairytale elements is a sure winner. That being said, I've noticed that Shimizu has a certain way of writing....That is....she goes all in....She has so many ideas you begin to notice how much the work changes as time goes on and it's sort of messy, but I still commend it. I find she works much better with episodic works like Himitsu: The Top Secret as she can explore as many ideas as she wants through isolated cases without compromising the story flow. Regardless, she's a fantastically talented artist who has such a wonderful ethereal quality to her work. She makes me think of the greats in the 70's. I reall wanna grab a copy... But Tsuki no Ko has been out of print forever so the volumes are ridiculously expensive OTL
I would suggest her work to anybody who wants something wildly creative (not necessarily clean lol!). If you like psychological crime stories, Himitsu is as good as they get.

Hajime no Ippo (been reading since 2001)
And just finished Oshi no Ko. The last chapter is kind of underwhelming.
And MF Ghost is winding down.

Wow, it's been a century. Lemme think back...
I blasted through Eden: It's and Endless World in about 2 days. It' not perfect, but it doesn't have to be. Woke liberal transgender transhumanist cyberpunk muslim action. Shout out to Hiroki Endo for being the coolest guy of all time. I tried looking up his twitter but he deleted it after being harassed for criticizing shinzo abe post bumping off... which makes him even cooler. Read his short story collections, now some of my favorites. Especially the one about the college students putting on a play. His shounen work I don't thing is very good. It sands down everything about him I like. The MMA one is enjoyable, however. Very good drawings of the bodies performing every action so meticulously.
Reread Yutaka Tanaka's library which I guess is something I'll just be doing in perpetuity... It's the best romance out there. Besides Kawachi Haruka, hehe. Reread the usual Gunslinger Girl, some yuri en masse, everything else evades me.
As for old skool stuff, I'm looking forward to Hoshi no Tokei no Lidell coming out in english for reals this time. Been really waiting for this. It's such an incredible read, to have it physically would just make it all the better. Also ordered some older Ikuko Hatoyama stuff, hoping to find the ancient garo works.
