Hi, I'm Matt. As a kid, I watched Speed Racer and Battle of the Planets, while my brother watched Star Blazers. In the late 80s, some friends introduced me to Laputa and Totoro at San Diego Comic Con. After that, I was one of the founding staff members for San Jose's No-Name Anime club and worked as Translator Coordinator one year at Anime America. As part of the No-Name team, I was one of the staff members at the first Fanime Con.
I slowly fell away from active anime fandom in the early 2000s. I still enjoy going to Ghibli Fest screenings at my local theater with my kid. And I continue to be amazed by the incredible growth of Fanime Con

welcome to the board, Matt! I have never been to Fanime but that yard sale event sounds really attractive to me, the Bay Area being a hotbed of anime fandom for so long. I imagine a lot of fans are unloading a lot of interesting stuff.
