Yes, space is what I am primarily interested in. However, I never got into the new Galactica series. Falling Skies does interest me, though. Alien invasion sounds cool. Maybe I can find it for rent in Japan. Too bad the V remake didn't last long. Maybe the execs put an end to it after the show featured the aliens offering "universal health care," since perhaps it drew too many parallels to the current political climate of America.

Bike, thanks for the colors! I may start on my Mach 5 car soon.

3rd season filming for Falling Skies starts today. Last episode of 2nd season ended in a doozie.

Can't think of any space based series currently in production.

Revolution is like SM Stirling's Emberverse novels, but "family oriented". I don't like the sound of that. 1st season Falling Skies was like that. They changed it and made it grittier for the 2nd season, which improved the show markedly.

I love the new Galactica series though Caprica never did much for me. Stargate Universe only got good in it's second season, then got cancelled. Too bad that. Wish they'd do another Firefly series or a TV movie but the actors are mostly comitted to other shows now. Nathan Fillion does show up at San Diego Comics Con and they have an annual Firefly panel. There was one again this year.

Kevin Sorbo (Andromeda) is doing these bad SyFy movies.

Continuum was fun. 1st and last episodes were the best. Hope it gets a 2nd season. Only shown in Canada but apparently they have sold it worldwide now. Lots of people from shows like Andromeda, X-Files, Stargate, etc. on it. Recommended...

Recently started working my way through Sailor Moon. Back in the day, I only saw about 3/4 of the first season, all of "S", and pieces-parts of the other series, and have always wanted to go back and watch it all. With the recent news of a new anime in the works, it seemed a good time. I'm really surprised how quickly I got acclimated to the show again. The first two disks were a bit of a slog (the formulaic-ness of it all isn't really my cup of tea anymore) but by the end of disk 3, the show was pinging for me the way I remember it doing back in the day. And I'd forgotten how much I *adore* Rei and her sniping sort of relationship with Usagi. :)

Other series that count for me as "currently watching" (mostly off-and-on, as I rotate through them in the rental queue): HikaGo, KOR, Outlaw Star, Heat Guy J, Nadesico, Kaleido Star,Simoun,Patlabor (New Files),Niea_7,Brain Powered,E's Otherwise,Super Gals,Darker Than Black,Saiunkoku,Ah! My Goddess (TV), Honey & Clover

Gosh, I really don't know any of these TV stations. Are these all cable TV?

Don't worry about sending those videos yet. I understand you're tight right now.

Firefly was great, but I'm not the most die-hard Firefly fan. Some really, REALLY think the show was the best SF show ever. I think that it had the potential to become the best SF show ever, but was cut short before it could really bloom. That's what is so tragic about it. I've collected the Serenity comics by Wheadon since then, however.

I'll keep an eye out for Continuum.

I never did see Outlaw Star, but I am very interested in seeing it sometime. Interesting that you listed Brain Powered, because that's another one I am interested in. I have some of the translated manga on my bookshelf, but I haven't gotten around to reading it yet.

As for anime I'm watching, I'm watching the Super Robot Taisen anime. I played the games on the Gameboy Advance, but I don't remember the storyline very well, especially to the first game. I'm also watching Fantastic Four: World's Greatest Heroes. Sure, it's an American animation, but it looks anime-ish. I finished Wolverine and the X-Men a couple of weeks ago.

Last night, I got a notification from Rightstuf.com last night, saying that my order has shipped! Both volumes of the Gundam TV series, Panda Ko Panda, Galaxy Express movie, and Cobra movie are all on their way! Their website had me concerned, because it says that all overseas orders must have a delivery address that matches the credit card's billing address. That's not the case with me, since my US credit card won't allow me to designate a foreign address for my billing address. Strange. All I needed to do was provide my dad's address that my credit card is listed as being the mailing address, and they accepted the order! Yay.

Today I bought a DVD in the Jump Super Heroes series. This one has the first episode each of six series: Dokonjou Kaeru, Samurai Giants, Kouya no Shounan Isamu, Captain, Space Cobra, and Cat's Eye.

My daughter loves frogs, so I'm having to sit through Dokonjou Kaeru for the second time. Samurai Giants and Captain are both baseball anime, so I'm having a hard time getting excited about watching those. Isamu seems to be a cowboy show? I dunno. I already know Space Cobra rather well. Cat's Eye is one of those gems from the fansub days I missed out on. I've never seen it, and I missed the chance to get it when ImaginAsian released it on DVD. I am looking forward to seeing this one.

Volume 1 in the series had Kinnikuman, Dr. Slump, Hokuto no Ken, Saint Seiya, Slam Dunk, and Dragonball. I think I will get that one next. With six shows for only 1200 yen, it's a great deal.

Interesting that you listed Brain Powered, because that's another one I am interested in.
Heh... that one's actually sort of on probation for me right now. I found the first couple volumes really intriguing - I liked some of the setup, and the characters and world-building seemed likeable enough - but the last batch of episodes I watched was just a jumbled mishmash of plot points and character motivations that seemed to come out of nowhere. I thought at first I must be near the end of the series, because it had that "rushing to wrap things up" feel to it... but then I realized it was only halfway through the series. I'm giving it another volume, but if this next one is as much of a slog as the last one, I may drop it.

Ah, I really liked what I've seen of Cat's Eye. I missed the ImaginAsian release, too, but I saw a dozen or so eps. back in the fansub days.

I took the day off a couple of days ago to stay home with my daughter because she had a fever. We finished watching Fantastic Four: World's Greatest Heroes and started watching Disgaea. I have a friend who loves the Disgaea games obsessively (mainly the first one), but he doesn't like the Disgaea anime. The story is not the same as the game, they draw Etna and Flonne with B-cups, etc. It's enjoyable for what it's worth. I don't remember seeing the end of the show when I watched these DVDs a year or so ago. I must not have finished them at the time.

Finally got around to checking out "Jinrui was Suitai Shimashita"/"Humanity has Declined" because I keep seeing it advertised in magazines. I was expecting it to be something about the struggle with humanity and fairies getting along, plus some moe thrown in and silly antics... but got something totally different.

Main character is played by Mai Nakahara and she is good at playing this kind of sarcastic straight-man in a crazy world. It's a dry humor and I love it. Though there are times when something slightly dark will catch you by surprise. This is no moe show, but at times it is an otaku show. (like the arc about publishing doujinshi) There are also many things left unexplained (but logical when you think about what's going on) because it would be insulting to have them sit there and explain every little thing for the lazy viewers that watch with their brain turned off - something not often seen in anime these days, or TV in general.

Anyone else watching?
