Yeah, I saw that a little while back and I thought it looked great. (it also looks very 80s-90s anime, which is not a BAD thing IMO, just something notable)

I think it's still ongoing. I thought the first two seasons were enjoyable although I really liked the 2D version.r-18 wrote:the cartoon network had this on a few years ago...

Yeah, I think I watched maybe the first several episodes of the Clone Wars CG series. It was okay, but I liked the hand-drawn cartoony one better (and I'm not a fan of Tartakovsky/Samurai Jack). It was good enough on its own to forget about how wretched the prequel movies were, even though they are a continuation of the same storyline. It's OK, but this anime-style Star Wars animation is spectacular. According to the comments section, it took the guy 6 months to create this one 2 minute clip. It's great because it has nothing to do with the prequels, and it's just good old fashion Star Wars fun.

Haha I watched that fan-made anime clip again just yesterday. I love how it's so 80's-90's looking! Looks like they totally rotoscoped it though, but still, I'm kind of shocked they haven't made at least one Star Wars anime, considering so many other popular US franchises dabble in it every now and then.
I didn't like Clone Wars. I watched it for a while, but yeah same, I prefer traditional animation. The designs kind of got to me after awhile and it became uninteresting imo.

I liked that Nelvana animated thing they ran during the Christmas Special. It had this terrific Mobieus look to it and that great alien language font.

I always wondered about that, too, considering they made Star Wars manga and everything! Maybe Lucas just didn't like the idea?ryoran wrote:I'm kind of shocked they haven't made at least one Star Wars anime, considering so many other popular US franchises dabble in it every now and then.

I tried watching Clone Wars, but I had the same reaction, basically. I wanted to like it so much, I just thought it fell short in some areas.

Oh yeah, the "Boba Fett cartoon"! That was pretty cool. It's the only thing worth seeing from the Christmas Special.davemerrill wrote:I liked that Nelvana animated thing they ran during the Christmas Special. It had this terrific Mobieus look to it and that great alien language font.
The Clone Wars cartoon (as opposed to the CG animated show) was pretty cool, the one made by the Samurai Jack guy. It had great style, and even though it revolves around the dumb prequels, it's cool to watch. I saw it back when I was still convincing myself that I liked the prequels, before Episode III came out, and I thought that the cartoon was more exciting than the movies.
