Nothing on Imdb on the live movie so it may be dead in the water. Was supposed to come out this year. Original announcement was here:

Re: What are you Watching?
I'm catching back up with Record of Lodoss War now. I started this back in January or so, IIRC. I am watching them in order as they are given on the DVD, and if you aren't paying attention, you'll get lost. The way it is presented, it just gives you whiplash. They wanted to skip ahead in the story to have the first episode to show more action (with its LOTR-inspired conflict of taking a shortcut through an old, abandoned dwarf hall to be ambushed at the end by a firey monster). They did something similar with V Gundam, because they wanted the first episode to feature a Gundam, even though Uso doesn' pilot the V Gundam until 12 or so episodes later in the story. The only motivation for this sort of thing is just marketing the first episode, and it really ruins the plot progression as a result.
I finished the first DVD yesterday afternoon, then rewatched the first episode because I was a bit lost.

Re: What are you Watching?
We just finished the final DVD of the AnimEigo Yawara box set. It's sad that they couldn't get the licensing for the second series!
Maybe we'll start on the Rose of Versailles next...

Re: What are you Watching?
I heard that someone finished fansubbing the series starting directly were Animeigo left off. I've been meaning to check it out because I started watching that series back in high school anime club and wouldn't mind finishing it eventually. XD
I had like...5 different people talk about K-on in the past 2 days on my twitter feed, so....now I'm watching K-on again.

Watched 2 episodes of Rose of Versailles. Great video, good subtitles, good audio on the DVD. No extras, but that's fine (apparently set 2 will have some extras). Just a simple, classy, quality, affordable DVD set. That's all you really need when you release a something like this on DVD. If only S'More realized that with GE999.
It would have been neat if they could have included one of the french Rose of Versailles dubs that ran in France or Quebec, though.

Finished Princess Jellyfish. Okay shoujo, perhaps a little overhyped by some fans. I'm still glad it was brought over, even if didn't make diddly squat for Funimation I bet. It ended up being more like Paradise Kiss with the fashion angle.

I liked Princess Jellyfish but it was so short, and it didn't really have a satisfying end. The manga's still going and I wish someone would pick it up--the story's much better.llj wrote:Finished Princess Jellyfish. Okay shoujo, perhaps a little overhyped by some fans. Re: What are you Watching?
That reminds me I need to read that series. I have only gotten about 5 episodes into the anime.
I started watching Gunbuster, now I remember why I liked it so much because it's kinda girly. And the robots (at least 2 eps into it) aren't the best designs.

I love Gunbuster so much. I'm still mad that I didn't hear when it was released on DVD. Now they're out of print and insanely overpriced. :/ I'm considering getting the compilation movie blu-ray at least, though, since it's still pretty cheap.ryoran wrote:That reminds me I need to read that series. The training mechs were never that impressive, I think it's so when Gunbuster is finally revealed it looks amazing by comaprison.
