Most awesome gigantic Artist Alley anywhere! Bigger than the one at San Diego Comic-Con. It took me 2 hours to do 2 walk-thrus.

The women's restroom in the San Jose Convention Center was haunted by the ghost from The Ring. She was beckoning people into the handicapped stall, and she never said a word.

I'm interested in reading about what happened.... A few media I know said there review will be harsh.

But what's interesting is to read the comments:

People are complaining that the anime con is now being overtaken by cosplayers cosplaying as BBC characters, Marvel, Homestuck, etc.

But I heard about the 5 hour + wait in line for those who pre-reg'd. Ouch!

Man I sold there years ago, I always liked it. I'm glad to hear it's so big, but I heard from several of the artists they were a little bummed it wasn't more well-promoted. And one girl who usually does well at anime cons only made back 25% of her costs, and it was due to not getting enough traffic. Were people pretty scattered there?

All growing anime conventions still have no professional way of dealing with registration. Even Sakuracon takes several hours.

I don't mind a few comic book characters at conventions here and there, but more and more anime cons seem to be less and less anime and more other series like MLP and Homestuck, and it's making me quite sad.

Wow...Lionel Lum just tore Fanime a new one. And for those who have met Lionel at cons around the country..this guy is usually not the type to rant:

I know this is sad...but I don't even know what MLP or Homestuck is.

I didn't either, but they're on the internet. According to Wikipedia, "Homestuck is a webcomic written, drawn, and animated by Andrew Hussie and is the fourth overall webcomic published on MS Paint Adventures." MLP is My Little Pony (too cute for me). There's actually going to be a Sac Brony Expo here at my alma mater in September (something I'll avoid).
