I remember a clip from a show that has a similar thing to the 10, 100, 1000 thing they did above, but it was 10, 20, 30.
It had a guy count up, 1-10 went fine, but 20 was "ten ten", 30 was "ten ten ten", etc.

Ah, I've seen that! "Ten ten!" I like the idea of "teeeeeeeeeeeen" more though. Just keep elongating that vowel sound to some arbitrary length of time and see if people understand you!

Ah! Gaki no Tsukai. I love that show. They have some great bits. The Absolutely Tasty series being among my favorites: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tfpYaAj0kkg

I've heard they do a new "Don't Laugh" show on New Year's every year? Anyone know anything about that?

Big news in Japan as another scandal has hit AKB48.

http://www.sanspo.com/geino/news/201211 ... 02-n1.html

Yuka Masuda of AKB48 has resigned after news that a tabloid to be published tomorrow claims that the singer spent a night at DA PUMP's ISSA's home (the two were co-stars for "Wiz ~Oz no Mahoutsukai~") which is against the rules for idol singers to be caught dating or being seen alone with guys.

Translation from her blog which can be found at http://ameblo.jp/massuuu-yuttan/entry-11415396132.html):

I'm sorry it has been a while since my last post.

Tomorrow, Shuukan Bunshun is releasing an article about me, saying I slept over at DA PUMP vocalist ISSA's apartment. The article includes facts that are not true, but it is true that I spent the night at his place.

I apologize for my indiscreet behavior and I'm honestly sorry that it this has become a nuisance to the fans, fellow members, staff and family.

I've thought the situation over and asked myself what would be the best thing to do. I must take responsibility for my actions, so I have decided to retire from AKB48. I apologize for this sudden announcement.

I feel very sorry for the fans that have supported me all this time and for me leaving the group in this manner.
I wanted to express my feelings directly to fans and everyone else I have worried because of this article, so I wanted to announce it in my own words on my blog.

Masuda Yuka

Coincidentally, the latest trailer for AKB48's upcoming documentary "No Flower without Rain" is about the scandals they endured in 2012.

AKB48 has done it again! The idol pop group has won back-to-back "Grand Prix" Awards at the 54th Annual Nihon Record Taishou (Japan Record Award) on Dec. 30th.

AKB48 had the top 5 selling CD singles in Japan for 2012 and dominated the music charts with each selling over a million copies.

And it was a literally a shoe-in for the idol group to win the "Grand Prix" award at the 54th Annual Nihon Record Taishou for their second straight year, as no other music artist or band in Japan came close to achieving similar numbers of CD singles sold in 2012.

Their CD single" 真夏のSounds good !" (Manatsu no Sounds good!) (which translates to "Midsummer Sounds good!") sold nearly two million copies. And their four other singles that sold over a million copies were "GIVE ME FIVE!", "Gingham Check", "UZA" and "永遠プレッシャー" (Eien Pressure).

The combined sales of CD singles, albums and DVD's by AKB48 has equaled to 19.1 billion yen.

AKB48 joins the list of other artists/groups with two "Grand Prix" wins such as Namie Amuro, Mr. Children, Takashi Hosokawa, Akina Nakamori and Yukio Hashi. Ayumi Hamasaki and R&B pop group EXILE are the only artists that have won three "Grand Prix" awards.

AKB48 also joins Takashi Hosokawa, Akina Nakamori, Namie Amuro, Ayumi Hamasaki and EXILE for back-to-back "Grand Prix" award wins.

Nominees for the “Grand Prix” award were:

「ありがとう」JUJU
「風が吹いている」いきものがかり
「GO FOR IT!!」西野カナ
「櫻」氷川きよし
「酒のやど」香西かおり
「777 ~We can sing a song!~」AAA
「花火」三代目 J Soul Brothers
「White Angel」Fairies
「真夏のSounds good!」AKB48
「やさしくなりたい」斉藤和義

Graduating AKB48 member Tomomi Kasai (21) performed at her solo event for a packed crowd of a 1,000 people at the BRITZ in Yokohama. Kasai performed a total of five tracks included her cover version of SPEED's "My Graduation". Also, showing up to her event was a surprise guest, SDN48's Megumi Ohori.

Kasai has always been a big fan of SPEED:

And not long ago SPEED's HIRO wrote Kasai a message which was shown on television:

http://kasaitomomi.wordpress.com/2012/1 ... ai-tomomi/

Translated by Kasaitomomi.wordpress.com: Dear Kasai Tomomi-sama,

Congratulation on solo debut. I am happy, too. When I was watching you on TV, “Kawaii na~”, “Do your best~”, I thought. I supports you all the way. I think there are many hard things on Showbiz. Do not lose to their cruel words! Do your best with Tomomi-chan’s shining charm! Make your solo a huge success! I am always supporting you. Please DM to my twitter anytime.

With a lot of love. I am looking forward to the day we can meet.

TOKYO —Megapopular all-girl idol group AKB48 will release a new song, “Tenohira,” as a part of their Tohoku reconstruction support project “Dareka no tameni” (What can I do for someone?)
AKB48’s management said the digital song will be released online at 6 p.m. on March 8.

AKB48 has already has raised over 1.25 billion yen through this project and donated it to Japanese Red Cross.

Along with concerts and fan handshake events, members of AKB48, including its sister group SKE48, have visited disaster-hit areas 22 times and performed mini-concerts, Christmas events, and so on.
AKB48 will also set up a special website for the project to raise more funds for the Japanese Red Cross.

On March 11, which will mark the second anniversary of the disaster, AKB48, SKE48, NMB48 and HKT48 will perform a charity concert at their theater in Tokyo’s Akihabara.
