I saw that one.
Probably not going to bid, but may come back to it at some point. Pretty cool.

Re: Bubblegum Crisis love thread
My poster of awesomeness arrived tonight! This is what I've been excited over!
Here's the link to the pic on my Flickr site, so you can get an even closer look.
Here are some parts highlights:
Laser seeker: salvaged after a Pink Floyd concert
Maintenance door: also handy to stash your beer in
Slave manipulator hand: for all those hard to reach places
UHF/VHF antenna: be sure not to miss syndicated episodes of Charles In Charge while fighting cyber crime
Control grip: not to be confused with the kung-fu grip
Reserve monitor display system: just in case your primary monitor display system breaks while watching Charles in Charge
...but where's the cup holder?
Now my only dilemma is, where to put this poster? I found B2 size poster frames on Rakuten (51x73cm, typical anime poster size). They are aluminum, so they should be better quality than those ones I bought at Michaels. (I actually had all my American poster frames shipped to Japan last year when I moved. The box didn't take up a considerable amount of space, but it was helluva heavy! Good thing I was charged for space instead of weight while shipping.)

These are so lovely! I adore them, I'd love to get my hands on a metallic Priss figurine. Thanks so much for sharing. <3

omG, that poster is just amazing! I don't think I've ever seen that artwork, either, what a great find!

Actually, Usa, IIRC, that image was used on the back of the very first BGC VHS by AnimEigo, back when they released everything in plastic clamshell cases. It really is awesome (or fawesome as my friend would say), so I couldn't resist! It came last night, and my mom-in-law (who is visiting us this week) was impressed, too. I told her, "Yeah, and it's actually a motorcycle that transforms into robot frame!" She's really cool, and she enjoys anime and such. She likes anime (especially retro anime), and she has bought stuff like this big expensive Galaxy Express 999 telephone card collection book and such. I'm lucky to not have in-laws who look down on me for being an anime nerd. (At least J-Mom does... I dunno about J-Dad. He doesn't say much, but he's a bit of a closet geek too, buying the old Combat TV series and such).

Ah, really? I never had those copies, so I never saw it, haha. XD
That's great that your inlaws are kinda geeky, too...my mom's kind of a closet geek (we used to watch Star Trek together--TNG, DS9, and Voyager) but she's never really "gotten" my love of anime (though she's admitted that the Sailor Moon movies were really pretty).

I snagged the Sylia figure this morning. Payday is Wednesday, and the auction was ending today. So, why not? With a buy-it-now price that's not very expensive for a MIB figure, I couldn't resist. Now all I will need is Priss and Nene. I'll take pics of it when I get it.gaijinpunch wrote:I saw that one.

Re: Bubblegum Crisis love thread
I recently scored these two B-Club Visual Comic books by Bandai.
Click the link here for a gallery of photos I took of several of the pages of these books.
Here are some highlights:
These are silly ideas for faux-retro BGC toys!
BADASSERY!
The pics of Nene in the shower are actually from a deleted scene from episode 4.
BGC, sentai style!
An actual manga about Kinuko Oomori, the voice actress for Priss.
A BGC computer game? Hmmmm! I know of the Bubblegum Crash game for the PC Engine, but this I've never seen before!
More cool figures, as well as posable toy concepts!

Wow, so lucky! I've been wanting these books for ages, but the ones on eBay are always so pricey! Thanks for posting pics of the inside!

The first book cost me only 300 yen and the second one was about 1900 yen. They weren't expensive for me at all. If there's anything you want off YAJ, let me know. I've bought a few things for Path. Come to think of it, I haven't seen her around here lately, unfortunately.usamimi wrote:Wow, so lucky! I've been wanting these books for ages, but the ones on eBay are always so pricey! Do you know if there is a third book in this series that covered episodes 6-8?
