Re: Sega Dreamcast Love
Yeah, I know. But for the life of me, I just can't play fighting games on a stick. Shmups are great for sticks, but I just can't get the hang of playing fighting games on a stick. I recently bought a couple of DC arcade sticks, and I've tried playing Street Fighter 3 and such with them. I guess I just have to get used to them.

A few months ago I replaced my long gone DC console at a new "retro gaming" store in Columbus, OH. Celebrating the new arrival are my sega gashapon gals. Indeed it is hard to find many titles now, if you want to spend under $25. The shop didn't even have an upgraded video cable for S-Video. My non-critical personal fave is Capcom's Darkstalkers/Vampire Savior.

Wasn't that a Japanese exclusive? I don't think it was released in North America, at least.labsenpai wrote:My non-critical personal fave is Capcom's Darkstalkers/Vampire Savior.
Here's a recent game haul. I only paid a few hundred yen at the most for each of these. The bottom row are DC games. Kndy already noticed these on my Flickr page.

I remember I played with the Chaos a lot on mine from the Sonic Adventure games! XD I remember there was a mini game in Sakura Taisen you could play on it, too, but I don't think I was very good at it...

Shenmue is still my favorite game of all time even after 14 years.
I actually own Godzilla Generations as well. The game gets bashed a lot but I personally enjoyed it. Other than fighting monsters, what's more to Godzilla than destroying Japan? I also love Cannon Spike, Zombie's Revenge, Last Blade II, and this console's version of Garou Mark of the Wolves. Still my favorite console in general for 2D fighters.

Re: Sega Dreamcast Love
My favorite 2D fighter on the Dreamcast is Marvel vs Capcom 2. I probably put more time into that than any other 2D fighter. The 2nd 2D fighter I played the most on the DC was probably King of Fighter Dream Match '99 (or possibly KOF2000). The 2D shooting games were fantastic on the DC too. Heck, independent developers still release shmups on the DC. A few months ago I bought Sturmwind for the DC, a homebrew shmup. It really brought the arcade experience home. I just wish that there had been more RPGs on the system.
