It looks like Cartoon Network has secured the rights to air DragonBall Kai (DragonBall Z Kai in the U.S.) on Adult Swim's weekly Toonami block this fall:
I must admit, I'm very excited about this. While I've been buying the Blu-Ray releases of DragonBall Kai, seeing the show find a home on Toonami just feels right. Although I've been enjoying the Toonami revival, I was a bit worried about the programming block. Having DragonBall back on Toonami makes me think that it must be doing fairly well, as I'm sure that this wasn't a cheap show to get.
Here's hoping that they manage to air Sailor Moon Crystal if/when it becomes available as well!
Cool stuff, I think that it's important for anime to still be on actual television (and not just streaming) in the U.S., and as a Toriyama fan this makes me happy as well. Kind of crazy to think that I was watching DBZ over the air in 95-96 and Kai is still in regular rotation going on 20 years later. Now if we can just get Dr. Slump fully released in the U.S.!
