MASSIVE hair is the best kind of hair ever.

I'm hoping Makoto/Jupiter looks as curvy as she was in the 90s anime.

Saw the first episode. I just don't like how Tuxedo Mask's new voice actor tries to forcefully imitate Furuya Tooru's nasal voice. Why couldn't they have brought him back? If he can still play Amuro then he can sure as fuck still be Tuxedo Mask. Luna's new voice lacks this distinct pitch that Han Keiko brought to the role as well. The new voice cast just falls flat on me. Other than that, I will continue to support the series since it follows the manga which I happen to enjoy.

I didn't find Mamoru's voice forceful-sounding, but then again, a lot of anime voice over is over-exaggerated and not quite "natural"...so maybe I just didn't notice? I was actually amazed they found someone that sounded so similar to Furuya! (Though I agree--why can he still do Amuro but not Mamoru?! ;___; Ah, well. At least He sounds close enough...I'm happy with that, I was worried they'd use that as an excuse to go a totally new direction! WHEW)

Luna I'm not terribly fond of, either, but meh. Luna was cute but never my favorite character or anything, so I'm not terribly disappointed.

Most of the stuff I didn't like about the first ep was just nit-picky details--on the whole, I thought it was a good adaptation of the manga for a "new" anime! It was neat to see scenes ripped directly from the first chapter. I know there's of course going to be plenty of people who hate it or decry that the original was better...which is fine, the original OBVIOUSLY holds a special place in my heart, and this new one of course will never replace it! It's just nice after all these years to finally get a version of Sailor Moon that will actually tell the ORIGINAL STORY, since the original anime changed SO much of it (and usually not for the better -_-). So even though I'll always love the old anime...this new one is definitely off to a great start and I can't wait to see more!

Also, there was an article on JapanTimes that had a blurb saying Takeuchi will be giving the new anime writers scenes that she had wanted to include in the manga originally, but her editor had her cut out--so we'll be getting some "new" scenes that Takeuchi herself always wanted in the story! I think that's pretty exciting and I'm totally looking forward to it!

I founded Nojima's voice to be forcefully nasal to me. Han Keiko also voiced Sailor Moon which showed how multi-talented she was. I believe she still plays Lalah as well in the original Gundam.

But I also liked how Hisakawa Aya's performance of Mercury back in the old series. She is one of my top favorites. She is still Kero-chan to me as well. The original 90s series featured many favorite seiyuus of mine such as Midorikawa Hikaru as Ali (though he was an anime original character) and he was Fiore in the R movie.

At this point, changing the voice cast is the only issue I have since I am also a major seiyuu buff. I already have issues with this change in the new Initial D anime and the trailer totally turned me off. I'd just hate it if they make a new Cowboy Bebop and Yamadera Kouichi can't be Spike.

Keiko Han only voiced Luna and Queen Beryl, Sailor Moon was voiced by Kotono Mitsuishi (and Kae Araki in a few instances when Mitsuishi couldn't be there). ;)

I meant Queen Beryl (typed that with little to no sleep). I believe Kae Araki voiced Sailor Moon in the like the last few episodes of the first season because Kotono Mitsuishi caught a cold or something. I am also a fan of Shinohara Emi, who voiced Sailor Jupiter. I will certainly miss her performance as well as Mori Katsuji (the Casey Kasem of Japan) as Nephrite.

Yeah, she was in eps 44-50 when Mitsuishi fell ill.

You can also watch it free & legally on these sites:
www.hulu.com/sailor-moon-crystal
www.viz.com/sailor-moon-crystal
www.crunchyroll.com/sailor-moon-crystal

Basically, they're making it really easy for anyone to watch it without having to download it illegally or use a shitty bootleg streaming site
