Warner Archives are (generally) bare-bones Manufacture-On-Demand discs. The project has the dual purpose of generating income via niche/boutique titles that wouldn't otherwise have 'mass' support in the brick&mortar retail environment (which is all but dead now anyway), with the mild (but competent and professionally done) remastering for disc release also serving to prep those same titles for future Video-On-Demand/Streaming income venues.

So, what they make is what they have, actually own in their library. 'Magic Boy' isn't going to have a Japanese language track because they don't have one. That's not what the film was.

It's like The Green Slime. MGM's release was in English.
Yes. I know all this already. I own a bunch of Warner Archives DVDs so I know their general process (some of my local brick and mortar stores actually do carry some of these MOD discs, amazingly)

Although I don't think the Japanese track syncs up with the print they have anyway, so even if they had access to it, it wouldn't be feasible.

Yeah, if a video store has any control of their own ordering, and they know their stuff, they stock some of the Warner Archive titles. Had Suncoast not gone belly-up due to massive stupidity I would have done my very best to have carried at least some of Warner's SF catalog, corporate foolishness be-damned. :)

(seriously. When Calamari Wrestler came out we weren't going to get ANY copies. I went ahead, ordered a dozen, sold them out a week after street date. )

You have no idea how tempting it is to gank that picture and try and make an avatar icon out of part of it...

:)

Also, in all fairness, I should point out that Right Stuf has had the Dr. Slump movies up for pre-order for some time, and a good price:

http://www.rightstuf.com/rssite/action/ ... Name=es080

But I think many of us have found Amazon to be easier, faster, blah blah.

and while not in this circumstance, most times WAY less expensive, which is important to everyone.

So, CHOOSE YOUR DESTROYER I mean vendor... :)

After sitting on the property since 2008, Sentai finally decided to re-release Jewel BEM Hunter Lime, of all things. Kind of surprised me, actually, since it's not like the old DVD is really hard to find!

In other news, the Fatal Fury movies are up to pre-order on Amazon now, it looks like.
