I wouldn't go near that movie unless there was a Rifftrax for it. It should've been a CG-animated movie, but then again, ugh. I wouldn't want that. The reason being is that while the video games are great and are animated fine, the rendered CG cutscenes in the games are pretty terrible and look even worse than the actual in-game graphics do. I'm only going by my memories of the stiff-looking CG characters in the FMV from DOA 3 and that dumb volleyball game. If they ever improved after then, I wouldn't know. I believe those FMV characters were done by a totally different team as the ones who created the characters for the actual gameplay. Pretty terrible. On top of that, I'm afraid that it would be completely terrible story-wise, such as the Tekken CG animated movie and such. An actual anime, on the other hand, might look better, but I still have doubts that the game would properly translate into a show that would make fans happy. I guess it must be difficult to make an anime based off of a fighting game. The Street Fighter movie and TV show seemed to pull it off, at least.
Fun, mindless fight scenes and there were a lot of references to the games throughout. As far as live-action films based on video games, I dare say it might have been one of more enjoyable ones -- but I know that's certainly not saying much.
