Man, if you ever scan those covers...I would love it! You have an awesome collection!_D_ wrote:They are all over the house in boxes. Mags from 1980 to the late 1990s. I also have a couple Terebi mags from 1980 and 1981 as well but those are really kiddy stuff. I guess this would be a boon to people looking to translate old articles on subjects they are interested in but I'd have to know what they are looking for. As such, these are not sorted by year or publication. I want to do that hopefully this year...
Just thinking this must have cost my bud a small fortune at the time and all he wanted was my friendship and some videos. For that, I am truly grateful...

_D_, this might be alot to ask, but if you could ever give me the issue numbers of any of the ones that cover Ranma 1/2, or have articles in them about it, please let me know! I'm trying to collect them somehow, but didn't know about that had Animage, especially a collection like that!

Which years? Scanning isn't the problem. What resolution? All the early mags or just New Type?kndy wrote:Man, if you ever scan those covers...I would love it! Hm. Looks familiar. Less organized but not far off the mark._D_ wrote:They are all over the house in boxes. Mags from 1980 to the late 1990s. So, you have any of the My Anime from the bi-weekly year? It didn't last long IIRC. We're talking late '85 into '86.
I can't remember if The Anime had gone bi-weekly or just died.

I'd be interested in seeing scans of the old kiddy stuff. And anything involving Leiji Matsumoto's stuff or Night on the Galactic Railroad. Heck, pretty much any scans from the 80s I would be all over._D_ wrote:They are all over the house in boxes. Mags from 1980 to the late 1990s. Just thinking I could scan these in 300 or 600 dpi or higher and crop them and upload them to one of the Cloud services as they seem to have given me many GB of space. I could then give you the links to what you are looking for and you could download whatever you are interested in. Would be easier than resizing the files for display on the site. I just saw another site offering up to 1TB of Cloud storage so it's not like I'm going to run out of space.

Argh! Stopped already! The paper size for the mags is larger than any of my scanners by 1/2 inch! I forgot...these use a metric paper size that will not fit most US scanners! Will have to wait til I can find a larger one or else I get an Epson with Digital Ice to clean up the images. I need one of those for slide work anyway. My old HP scanner would have been perfect since it can scan up to 4800dpi, while my cheap one can only do 600...
But...maybe I can photograph the mags in question with my 10 Megapixel camera since I use a tripod for that. It's worth a shot...
The kids mags should fit though. I did some test shots before but they were from my camera...

Scanned and resized (the original is 600dpi 8MB)
