I don't really have much problem with those times. I mean, at worst, I'd be busy doing something with the university, but that's it.

Speaking of chat clients, how about AIM?

I don't know anybody who uses AIM. Nearly all my friends use Google chat ("Hangouts" if I must call it that) or maybe Skype. I'm still on Yahoo's IM, but I never use it. I still get stupid friend requests on YIM a lot, but they are all female-sounding names and are most likely spam bots inviting me to look at some dumb porn site. That's why all my friends fled Yahoo and went to Google.

Shall we cast a vote or something?

I'm good with using either. I don't have AIM installed anymore, but you can access the "AIM Express" online, so I can always use that. XD

I actually don't have or use AIM anymore. I pretty much exclusively use Skype now, since that's the only thing all my friends are on. I wonder if there's any place we can just set up a chat room?

Long time no post! Sorry! Yes it would be ace to jump in on a hangout, Skype doesn't work on my PC for whatever reason so Google is my only option (lame).

So I think Google Hangouts is our only viable option. So if, say it is 10am Saturday morning here in Happy J-Land at 10am, it will be 6pm Friday afternoon in the West Coast and 9pm in the East Coast. However, PAJ is in England, so it'll be 2am there.
:?
So do you think we could start a thread in the private members'-only section to share google IDs, our respective time zones, and make an arbitrary date and time? So like if we don't have anybody on the American West Coast, we can slide it to make a more suitable time to start a chat? I've never really used Google Hangouts before, so I don't know if it's possible to schedule a "chat room" style environment. Does anybody have much experience with that?

EDIT: I think I found the answer to my question. I think it's called Hangouts On Air. I'll start reading this. Apparently you can label it, send RSVPs, and all that.

EDIT EDIT: Never mind that! That uses stupid YouTube. I think to do this, we'll be forced to use stupid google+. I hate google+, because they forced me to create two separate google+ names and I don't know how to switch between them.

A new thread with info would probably be good!

OK, so who is up for me scheduling a chat session for Saturday evening in the West and Sunday morning in Japan?

Usamimi, did you see the thread in the private section? There is a thread there for sharing google IDs. Or if anyone would prefer, you can just send your google ID via PM.

Okay, I have scheduled the first chat session through Google Hangouts. The timing is a bit difficult though. Does anyone know if I need to be online to activate the session? If not, I can schedule it for earlier and people can come and go. I've scheduled it for 8am Japan time, but I can set it earlier an hour.

If anyone knows a better venue to do something like this, particularly without being swallowed by Google Plus, let me know.

I think whoever sets it up does have to be online to activate it. I've been in scheduled Google Hangout chats before and they always started once the person setting them up showed up.
