It was a damn shame Anime Sols is now gone for good. They had a ton of interesting programs they were subtitling - the old classic Tatsunoko shows, even old black and white stuff - that will probably never have a chance for better exposure in the West.
But then again, most anime fans couldn't give a damn about shows like that. And the way it was run was just one more nail in the coffin. Maybe it wasn't meant to last...

It doesn't help that it was literally run by less than 5 people, if I recall reading. That kind of workload was a huge strain, and such a small staff limited what kind of PR they could do, I'm sure. It's a real shame, because I had people reblogging posts I made on Tumblr about the company long after they closed up, sounding interested in it.

I might be too cynical about it, but even if they had good P.R., would they have been able to sell the kind of shows they offered? There weren't too many shows in the lineup that would reel in anyone but vintage anime fans.

That's true. A lot of the shows where never gonna hit it big, but I know that people were really excited about Creamy Mami, Dear Brother, and the prospect of possibly getting Time Bokan or other Majjoko Club releases. Sadly, that didn't last.
