Just won a PS4 system in a contest. That's the second new system I've won and the third including the 360 in the past 10 months. Now if there was only something to play on it. Don't want to end up giving this system away too...

I should enter more contests.

I honestly haven't heard much out of the PS4 and XBoner since their launch. Are there any good games for these consoles yet? Moreover, have we finally reached a saturation point when it comes to console gaming? How much better can games get at this point technically? It seems like console gaming has been around long enough that people can just pick an era they prefer and stay there for a long time. I didn't jump on the PS3 and 360 era and I'm not missing it at all--and there's so many games from the retro systems I still haven't played yet.

I am with you, Ilj. I gave up after the Xbox/PS2/GC generation. After going around shopping with my friend from America this past weekend to all the otaku shops and seeing Project X-Zone for under 1000 yen used, I am definitely considering buying a 3DS sometime this year (perhaps). But as far as consoles go, I've had it. I'm enjoying retro consoles just fine. Too much BS these days. I don't need to have my SNES connected to the internet to play a game, for example.

Unlocked all the endings in Last Blade 2 and then sold my US copy. Playing Jojo's Bizarre Adventure now with the Dreamcast still hooked up to my TV. Love the art and animation. The game mechanics are a little odd, though, and the characters control even odder. It falls under the "freakshow fighters" category of fighting games IMO.

Yeah, I just saw a review of Jojo's Bizarre Adventure for the DC on Classic Game Room on YouTube/DailyMotion. I never did buy that game, but it looks fun. Capcom really suppored the DC back in the day, giving us plenty of great games for that system.

The game on the Dreamcast I played the most recently was Street Figther III. I bought two versions actually. I know that one is the better one to play (I think it's 3rd Strike, the one with Chun-Li), but the other earlier game has some neat features the newer one doesn't, I am told.

I am tempted to put together a "100 Sega Dreamcast games in 10 minutes" video someday, but I do not yet own 100 games. More like 85 or so.

You could post a top 50 right now, though. :D

Anyway, I've been playing the Streets of Rage Remake again lately. Trying to unlock more stuff in it. Such a great fan game.

PS Hope you PC players have been taking advantage of the Steam sale this past week. Finally bought the GOTY version of Borderlands 2 and am enjoying the extra DLCs immensely...

Cleared out some unwanted games yesterday and traded a few of them for a copy of the Genesis Moonwalker at my retro games store.

"Michael!" Damned hilarious game.

I just got done playing Mortal Kombat Deception. It is still a lot of fin to play. My PS3 has been gathering dust for at least four months. After I beat Catherine and Alice the Maddness Returns I have not been playing the PS3. I been doing a lot if cello practicing though.

Last night I FINALLY finished Legend of Heroes: A Tear of Vermillion for the PSP. I started that game nearly 4 years ago. I definitely remember starting it in around September or October of 2010, because that is when I started riding the train to work in downtown Phoenix.

The game is alright, but it just didn't captivate me as I would hope an RPG would do. During this time, I've played some other RPGs, such as Disgaea on the DS (still haven't finished that one, either) and Fate/Extra for the PSP. The storyline is very simple to Legend of Heroes, and the gameplay is extremely linear. The battle system is rather disappointing. It's functional and there isn't anything to gripe about, but it is very traditional and non-innovative. This isn't because this game comes from the PC Engine era of gaming, however; it actually was originally on the PC in the '90s. The PC version had a very intricate battle system, but while remaking this game for the PSP, Bandai decided to just oversimplify the gameplay and turn it into a plain vanilla RPG.

Graphically, the game features nice sprite-based characters, but I found that the rendered buildings all looked the same, and I had difficulty finding my way around towns. Most towns seemed to look the same.

I hope the other two in this trilogy for the PSP are more interesting. I recently bought the more recent Legend of Heroes game, which looks to be pretty solid.
