I grew up on the Ocean Studios version, and since I don't own a boxset of DBZ yet, this would most likely be the version I'd get. <:
Oh, yeah! I posted about that in Feb on page 3 of this thread:

I'm half tempted to get it just for nostalgia's sake. XD I remember Vegeta's fakey British-y accent, lol.
I'm glad they're still releasing more info on that. The booklet sounds like it'd be interesting, I'm curious to see what that'll include.
To add to the new-release news, Shout Factory is releasing a "Starzinger" movie box set in August:

And not a SUPER old title, but apparently Ghost in the Shell: SAC is getting a bi-lingual blu-ray release in Japan (including the dub!):

Looks like the re-release of New Dominion Tank Police will now be subtitled-only:

Guess they couldn't swing the rights for the old dub from US Manga Corps?

I can live without the dub, but is it at least going to be remastered or anything? Does anyone know?

I still have no idea...it doesn't say in the description, and when I asked Right Stuf on twitter when they first announced it, no one answered, so...I'm assuming they don't know for sure yet? Since they're usually so good at answering questions like that.
Oh, last night Discotek announced on Facebook that they'll be releasing the '94 Megaman animated tv series sometime next year.

I was never super into that series, but I thought that was kinda cool.

Discotek announces Dr. Slump movies!
And they're the early GOOD ones!!

Seriously, I try to keep an open mind about many things but if you had told me that I would be able to own a professionally licensed and subtitled (HOPEFULLY professional and not just taking Toei's crap scripts) copy of the 'Dr. Slump Space Movie' I would have likely called you bad names and maybe even punched you.
Sink me, I can't even begin to contain the giggles I feel upon learning this!

OMG! I just heard myself and was coming here to post that! I'm just as excited as you, Steve. I actually dressed up like Arale at A-kon this year (and was amazed that 11 people actually knew who I was supposed to be! ;A; ) and if someone had told me "Hey guess what? They're gonna release Dr Slump films in English!" over that weekend, I would've been like "Haha, right, and I have beach-front property in Arizona to sell you."
Seriously, I was giddy when I heard this. I am gonna get this as soon as I possibly can. I hope if it sells well they might consider doing the TV series!

I'm very excited about the Dr. Slump movies and can only hope that "Quest For Toilet Paper" is among them.

All I want is the Space Movie. To see the whole 'Dr. Mashilito dance number' in glorious crystal-clear DVD will be like some powerful drug. It may make me want to cosplay as Mashilito (altho I think I could pull off a credible Senbei now) if I ever get to a con again.
The other movies are just gravy. No, I don't like gravy. Pancakes. Yes. The other movies are pancakes.
My GOD what will Discotek announce next?
They can just keep on whipping out 'Toei TV Manga Festival' featurettes for the next few years as far as I'm concerned.
Speaking of which, anyone heard a street date for their Space Pirate Captain Harlock set? I would like to hope that the silence means they're doing fresh translation and not relying on the Toei provided scripts.

I know, omg. If I ever meet any of the Discotek people, I swear, I will want to hug them. XD
I don't think they've released any info recently about Harlock, but yeah...I'm pretty much taking it as a "no news is good news" thing, too.

Now if only we could get a DVD/BD release of the original series. It has been out that way for years in every language BUT English. There are some nice fan subs out of episodes using the Japanese DVDs as masters. Would be great to finally get a legit professionally done set after all these years...
