It really would be nice. When I was at A-kon, a good chunk of the people who recognized me were actually people who said they watched the series in Spanish as kids.

Hello lovlies,
If you have been on the fence about picking up Dairugger XV (Vehicle Voltron), Rightstuf has it for only $13 now! I was just placing an order for Rose of Versailles vol. 2 and I saw that in the bargain bin.

And answering my own question, Space Pirate Captain Harlock and original Cutie Honey are supposedly set for an August (2013) release. This via a Faceybookie post in March.

There is no evidence of this on either Discotek's own site and store, nothing on Amazon, zip, zero.

Now, I really love what Discotek is doing, I'm trying to give them my monies but dammit they are the WORST at marketing/promotion, just the worst. Well, not as bad as Voyager Entertainment maybe but damn close.

I know, I KNOW it's just a couple of guys and they have to do EVERYTHING and there's no budget and blah blah blah. Dudes, you can't make money if you don't tell people about your stuff.

arrgh.

The release dates for Harlock and Cutey Honey were just announced very recently. I don't think they will appear on Amazon until at least 3 weeks later. This is the case for most release dates in general.

They must be a very small company with not much towards marketing. Even smaller companies I have dealt with, they would say, sure we'll have you our marketing press list. But for Discotek, for all news, you need to go to our website. It's all good...every company has their way of doing things. But it was the first company that distributes video that I received that type of answer. I asked if they solicited their titles for review...but they didn't reply to that question.

Well, um, the thread and link I was reading was from MARCH, so...

See, in normal retail, video solicitations are generally 2 months ahead of the street date. So if these are supposed to be out in August the solicitations should have hit Amazon's buyers back in May.

Even saying that, Right Stuf should have the pre-order up now, and they don't.

so, I stand by my comments. :)

Wow, thanks for the heads up on Dr. Slump. I can't believe that is going to see the light of day, but I'm sure as hell going to get it.

I don't mind when there's no official release dates for anything, just as long as they don't get dropped. Quality over quantity.
