I've been meaning to watch that, since I liked the anime movie, actually ^^; I didn't know until a while back that the author of the original story was the guy that wrote the novel "Paprika" (which Satoshi Kon made the movie from, obviously). I thought that was really neat. XD

Is it any good? I never heard of it until you mentioned it. I just read the synopsis on Wikipedia, which is not clearly-written.

Not really. I think for those who want cheap thrills of Sadako coming out of the TV or computer screen via 3D may enjoy it but nothing like the original "Ring" films. It's starting to become like the banal horror films in the US...churned out because they know people want to see Sadako pop out and kill people.
You may enjoy this much more!

I seriously love The Ring and the original novel, but I agree that since Sadako got so popular, they just kinda...make stuff with her all the time now. :/ I mean, they even made SADAKO HELLO KITTY products to promote the 3D movie!
(Ok, I'll admit that's pretty cute, but seriously....XD)
Forgot to mention it here, but a while back, I watched a Japanese documentary on Netflix called "The Great Happiness Space". It's about Host Club boys in Osaka. It was interesting because while I knew what Hosts did and all, I was surprised when they interviewed the women who go there and spend the most money on them...without spoiling the film, it was a bit sad, really. But an interesting watch, like I said.
