Re: What are you Watching?
Just got caught up with Tamako Market, ready for the last episode on Sunday.
Also probably going to re-watch the Tenchi Muyo OAV sometime next week, my friend sent me his DVDs since he bought the whole series on Blu-Ray and I'm super excited to watch it all, and then all 3 movies after! Woo~

Re: What are you Watching?
I was surprised to see they added all of Tenchi to Hulu Plus now! Including that newer spinoff...war of Geminar or whatever. I didn't see if it was dub or sub though.
Actually I've been kind of impressed with some of the titles they have available on Hulu Plus. They have Galaxy Express, Captain Harlock, Black Jack (well technically that came out in the early 00s but yknow), Bubblegum Crisis, Lupin (pretty sure its the dub tho), Royal Space Force...I heard they just added Sherlock Hound, too!

Watched "Tokyo Magnitude 8.0" and "Rurouni Kenshin: New Kyoto Arc". I will be starting "A Certain Scientific Railgun" and "Phi-Brain" next.

They have such a plethora of good stuff! But I refuse to pay monthly for a service that has ads every 10 mins in one show. It's redonk.usamimi wrote:I was surprised to see they added all of Tenchi to Hulu Plus now! Including that newer spinoff...war of Geminar or whatever. I didn't see if it was dub or sub though.

Re: What are you Watching?
I'm currently watching: Tamako Market, Jojo's Bizarre Adventure, and Little Busters. I think all of them end in one episode (two at the most) and I'm not exactly sure what I'm replacing them with but its probably going to end up being: Akibaranger season 2, Mawaru Penguindrum, and the last half of Nichijou.
Ancient anime wise I have a old ADV dvd of Birth (bought years ago, never opened) sitting on top of my player, I just have to convince my better half to sit through it with me.

Re: What are you Watching?
I don't pay for it, actually--I have a friend who was kind enough to share their login info with me. XD;;; (I know, terrible, but hey I can't complain~) Most of the titles can still be watched for free on their website, from what I've heard, but being able to stream it on the PS3 is nice (and the fact that there's subtitle-only titles is great, since Netflix doesn't seem to like putting anything up that isn't in English
). I remember I watched all of Kuragehime on Hulu's website when it first came out because Funimation let them upload it almost as soon as it aired in Japan.
They only seem to do commercials when you'd expect them in a normal TV show, and sometimes if you opt to watch a minute-long commercial before the show starts, you can watch episodes commercial-free (though that's a random option, it's not a consistent). Still, I know it's not for everyone. I wish you could stream Crunchyroll for free on PS3, it sucks that that's a pay-only feature. I can live with watching it on a computer, but being able to watch it on our large tv is so much more convenient!

Whaaa? Most other online services are free with commercials, but for paid subscribers, there's no commercials. Like Live365.com and such.ryoran wrote:They have such a plethora of good stuff! But I refuse to pay monthly for a service that has ads every 10 mins in one show. It's redonk.

Yeah, that's the only thing that sucks about Hulu Plus...there's still commercials, there's just less of them than if you were watching the "free" version on their website. :/

Re: What are you Watching?
I'll be finishing AKB0048 season 2. I'm also watching Chihayafuru s2, Problem Children are coming from Another Planet and Knight in the Area. I'm a little annoyed that CrunchyRoll seems to have continuous issues with their stream timing. I became a paid subscriber in order to have faster access to shows (CR commercials didn't bother me, but I like having more immediate access to shows and the wider library too) but AKB0048 seems to be at least a week behind even on paid subscriber list and other simulcasts seem to take a week (or near enough to it) to be "converted to play" on my tablet. (I don't mind watching on computer, but my tablet has HDMI so I hook it up to my TV in the living room and that's how the wife has been watching Chihayafuru) So that's a little frustrating. -_-
Also, re: commercials on CrunchyRoll, before I went to paid it seemed like most of the commercials had converted to CR commercials, but I know there WERE other commercials in there. I think they probably haven't gotten enough advertisers on board yet, but they keep the slots in place so people have a reason to upgrade.
