Discotek has picked up the original Orguss TV series.

Oh nice! If I already hadn't collected the ImaginAsian release, I'd be all for that. The ImaginAsian version was made by order, so those are extremely rare.

Discotek's been on a roll! Orguss, Shin Mazinger Z, Itazura na kiss, and now Flame of Recca! There's one I never thought would get a re-release!

Yeah, I just saw the Orguss news this morning, at work. Looking forward to that, quite a bit. Already have all the Mazingers, but hey, an official, American release sounds great to me - now, if they'd only get UFO Robo Grendizer next...

Didn't even remember that Flame of Recca was a 90s show, otherwise I'd have mentioned it.

Pretty sure Ita na Kiss is a newer show, though.

Yeah, it's newer, but it's based off of a 90's shoujo manga, so it kiiiiinda counts?

Tons of live action TV specials were spawned from it, seems like. I don't want to sound like I'm being a prick when it comes to mentioning newer shows, by the by, so it's all cool.

oh no, I totally understand. I didn't mention it or Shin Mazinger Z on my blog for those reasons...they're technically new, even though they're based off old properties. I make an exception for things like Sailor Moon or Dragonball, simply because they're titles EVERYONE knows.

To use overworked Internet phrase: Mind=blown

I could hope for a re-translation, I recall hearing the Imaginasian MOD discs had some rough subs, mainly due to TMS demands their in-house stuff be used, a more and more common excuse for not hiring a decent translator. "The Japanese made us use this! Boo hoo hoo!"

ahh, whatever. It's on my list now. Could Discotek please bother us with a hard release date for the Dr. Slump movies now? Huh?

A show I always wanted to try but never did. Maybe now's my chance.
