I'm pretty sure some comic shops I frequent still have copies of the Madox 01 DVD floating around their stores.

Wow, I guess it is pretty rare! In this past decade, I would buy stuff from AnimEigo's own website, especially when they had sales. I just looked at it again yesterday, and You're Under Arrest is now OOP and can be bought rather cheaply. When KOR went OOP, they said that they still had some box set boxes available, and that they would give them to those who could convince them to do so. When I submitted my order, I just left a note saying something to the effect that AnimEigo has always been my favorite anime company and I got it. I never managed to get UY from them, other than the first volume. I wish I'd bought more, because my daughter loves the series.

Because they had several DVDs for under $10, I bought Arcadia of my Youth, Metal Skin Panic Madox-01, and Crusher Joe. I missed getting their Macross DVDs from their site, but I was able to obtain them easily off eBay once ADV began releasing them. I knew I wanted to have the AnimEigo versions! There is a slight interest in seeing Mari Iijima reprising her role as Minmay in English, but not enough to want to buy it. So I got both Madox and Crusher Joe for only about $10 each, and they are both ridiculously high priced!

I'll see about capturing the interview. Ever since I replaced my motherboard and chipset last year, my capture device adds an occasional snapping sound. It's quiet, but enough to bother me. I can upload that despite that sometime.

Wow, for real? Are they reasonably priced? XD

Greg, if you're using a PC, I'd recommend a program called Format Factory. You can download it for free and it rips video from DVDs pretty easily. Since it's a free program, the picture quality isn't top notch, but since it's just for something like an interview like this were picture quality isn't an issue, I don't think anyone would mind.

I'm really kicking myself for not picking up Madox or Crusher Joe when they were going for cheap...I assumed they'd always be relatively cheap. Stupid "collectable" factor. :/

super space ditto on Crusher Joe. I don't mind my subbed VHS but DVD is so nice for just going to a specific scene...

That would be a nice license rescue for either Discotek or Right Stuf.

Just watched Villgust, a fun little 2 OVA series.

First time I've watched something of my own accord for quite awhile; been capturing so much stuff for people lately that I've not had the time...

I agree, Steve! I'd love it if they picked both of those up, they're decent titles (esp. Crusher Joe!)

I used to think Crusher Joe was a little slow and the music not quite fitting, but as time has gone on, as I've studied film more, it strikes me as steady as a classic samurai film. It's not plodding, it's deliberate. Like an orbit.

but there are some seriously kick-ass moments. And those wonderful Yas chara designs. And now I kinda wish I had the soundtrack CD. :)

I believe they're around the same price as they were when they first came out on DVD.

There's not much difference in quality between ADV's Macross and Animeigo's--in fact, I believe some tech geeks determined that the picture quality on the ADV is slightly better...but I recall that we've had this discussion before. So I won't keep pushing it. :)

IIj, on the subject of quality, do you know off-hand what the Animeigo sources were for their transfers? I only ask, as I was very depressed when buying some of their DVDs (Arcadia and UY especially) only to find they were muddier and grainier than their own LD releases.
