Fill out a short survey I'm using for my next podcast episode and you could win a prize! http://animenostalgia.blogspot.com/2014 ... ar-in.html Thanks in advance for anyone who fills it out and good luck. :3

This was a really great episode! You could tell that all of you really have respect and admiration for Satoshi Kon's work. This entire retrospective has really made me want to pick up some of these titles, especially those that I missed. I hope that someone rescues some of these licenses soon!

Survey taken! :D Congratulations again on the success of the podcast. I'm sure that it's very time-consuming to plan, record, and edit these shows, but you're doing a great job!

Thank you so much, Kame! I'm so glad people enjoyed it. I was actually worried people would poke fun at it because I got kinda misty-eyed at one part talking about personal memories but so far people seem to really like it so I was really happy. ;A; That ep was kind of crazy to edit because we talked for over FIVE HOURS! haha, but I'm pretty happy with how it turned out, it was worth it~

Aww, thanks! I try my best. It can seem daunting sometimes since I'm just one person, but having 1-2 eps a month helps. Any more than that and there's no way I'd be able to keep up, lol.

So what do you use for recording your shows? When I finally got around to switching to Windows 7 (Windows 8 can eat a bag for all I care), I bought a new Buffalo HD webcam to go along with it because my old webcam was so crappy that my friend often joked about being able to count the pixels of my image. I figured that with the sharp image quality, the sound must be sharp, too. Nope. It actually sounds more muffled compared to my old webcam using XP. So I bought a stand-alone microphone that plugs into the input on the back of my computer. While it sounds a bit clearer, apparently PC microphone technology hasn't advanced since the mid-'90s or so. The microphone on my digicam, meanwhile, sounds fantastic.

Do you record your shows with your computer, or some recording device?

Yeah, I use a different setup than standard computer mics. Since I did voice over stuff long before I did podcasting, I wanted to have a mic that made me sound somewhat professional. I ended up getting a mic that was actually intended for podcasting (though I didn't realize it at the time) http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B000H4 ... GNQBXEZVEZ

It's basically a studio condenser mic with a stand, shock mount, and pop screen. It plugs easily into any PC's USB, I've used it on our desktop as well as our laptop when I've gone to Heather's place to record podcast episodes with her. For the price, it's been very good to me--I bought it well over 6 years ago and it's still going strong. :) Hope that helps!
