How do companies store dubbing records?

Anything on magnetic tapes or records could degenerate with time if not properly stored, so I am curious about how companies store dubbing records, both back in the 1990s and nowadays. Do they have vaults/storage/closets for the records; or have everything, even the ones made back in 1990s, been digitized?
