According to this old interview of Fred Ladd, he worked on an anime called Ace Man. Did the interviewer mistake Gatchaman for Ace Man? Or was there an anime with that name?
Also, do anyone here have an idea on how can I access old magazines of Animation World Network?

looks to me like the interviewer wasn't familiar with 8-Man, and misheard the name of the show when Fred mentioned it.
