So for this upcoming AWA, I did a submission for the Video Track Room on a video ive been working off and on for about a year roughly, and I feel its so far my best work. Once the con is over, I'm gonna tackle on of the the 10 or so AMV ideas ive had in my mind since I started to work on this video and even way before that.

This is my first AMV in 9 years since my last con submission back at Animazement in 2010.

So if you guys wanna show off good AMV's or have your own to show off, I guess this is the thread to do it (unless there was already another thread about it that I didn't know about).
So who watches/makes AMV's? Lets have a thread about that!

That was a pretty neat anime music video. Nice touch at the end, too. It had me laughing a bit.

Thought I'd share one, too. I didn't create it, but it's pretty neat.

Pretty sure I've posted this before in older AMV threads here, but to date the only one I ever managed to finish was this Armitage III one 6 years ago. It's a little rough around the edges, but I still think it's fairly good for my first serious attempt & with what I had to work with at the time. https://youtu.be/gScsWYNhp5A

I remember we talked about AMV's but i wasn't sure what thread it was on, but thats been a couple of years. Yea I remember seeing your vid and I did enjoy it, I thought you did a pretty good job.

One thing I think is kind of interesting is that conventions tend to develop a "house style" for AMVs, like the ones that focus on doing cool stuff technically, or the lyrics-driven AMVs where they try to match the anime action and cuts to the timing of the lyrics of a song. I didn't really realize this was a thing until I started looking for AMVs on YouTube and started encountering styles I didn't see so much at cons, like the "I loved Adult Swim bumpers" or the "Can a GIF be an AMV?" types. The GIF ones are especially interesting because they usually rip the scene completely out-of-context from the anime, so it just focuses on the cool animation and the cool song.
I liked this one because you could tell it was influenced by the GIF style AMV but wanted to pull it back into showcasing the anime itself and the con-style AMV: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TVmMQVnqcpE (The anime itself is not really my thing, to me it seemed like it was mostly about eating cake, but the AMV seemed to capture what the fans felt when they saw it.)

I love AMV's and I've always wanted to make them, but I don't really have the technical know-how to really do anything outside of Windows Movie Maker-style slideshows.
I've actually had a few ideas for AMV's and GMV's (game music videos)
