The first instance of an omnibus visual novel adaptation

I've just finished a show called Sentimental Journey adapted by Sunrise from the visual novel Sentimental Graffiti. Each episode is dedicated to a single story centers around one of the twelve heroines in the game. This kind of arrangement would later appear on other visual novel adaptations such as Kanon (2006), Yotsuga no Sora and Amagami. So I just wonder if Sentimental Journey is the first even anime adaptation of a visual novel that has an omnibus format? Or was there any show which did that earlier?
