How much anime do you watch? (Is it healthy? (Are we getting too old for this job?))

I voted for 0-1 hours per day. As much as I enjoy anime, I just don't watch much stuff these days. I currently do not own a TV, but I could at least watch something on my laptop. Lately I've been watching Wolverine and the X-Men which is certainly not anime, but still an animated show. Most days I won't watch it, but when I do, I will watch about 2-3 episodes. So when I do watch anime, I'll devote at least 1+ hours to it. But looking at a daily average, it is not that much.

I think "daily" is too granular for our age bracket. As much as I love anime, I'm not going to watch anime EVERY day in my time between work and sleep, and I don't even have kids to deal with. But I'll watch a decent stretch on the weekend or on a given day. I MIGHT average around an hour a day right now, although the lack of anything compelling on cable TV and the not very compelling summer lineup has me lower on consumption right now. (although I watched "Summer Wars" last weekend)

I watch about 1.5 hours a day during the week and about 10 hours on Saturday, followed by around 3 on Sunday.

We watch an episode or two of something at dinner; we're working our way through Zeta Gundam, or an episode of Brygar, or Brother Dear Brother on the Viki. Might watch a movie on a weekend night, but it's not a regular thing.

Good point. I changed this to just a general topic.

Wow. :)

I myself have been so busy working on this site and other things that I haven't been able to watch much of anything lately...

Well, due to the weekend meetings of Central Anime I get lots of viewing time.

I echo Heero's views exactly.
Now and then I'll binge on something for a few hours straight, and then watch nothing for a week or two. It depends on my mood (and the weather--if it's too hot, I'll stay inside and watch something).

It varies a lot for me, but I still do watch *quite* a lot, in general. I do a lot of rentals from online dvd places, so that gives some built-in motivation to keep watching, to make the most of the money that goes into that. :)

At any given time, I'll have 6 anime discs out. During active periods, I'll go through all of those within the week and get them in the mail for next week's batch. (So an average of a little less than 12 hours/week? Assuming 4 eps. per disc, 25 minutes per ep.) I might do that for 3-4 weeks in a row, then go 2-3 weeks without even turning on the tv.

Hey, so when you do video streaming rentals, can you choose between dubbed or subbed? I've always wondered that. I know that with my former cable company back in the states, there were no such options. So, I never bothered watching any anime through their service.
