Death in the family

Post by usamimi »

Hey guys, yesterday I got word that my father passed away. If I seem scarce or it takes me a while to answer anything, this is why--right now we're trying to figure out when to have the service and how/when I'll get back up to WA to see my family for a bit. Thanks for understanding. I'll still be poking my head in here from time to time when I can, of course.

I'm very sorry to hear this. Given our age, I'd say that most if not all of the members here have gone through losses as well, so we know how it is. We're a little family, so feel free to pour your heart out here if that would be helpful for you.

I'm sorry to hear that. My mom died a year ago, and I was unable to attend her funeral because I had just moved to Japan. I can certainly empathize with you.

Thanks everyone, I really appreciate it.

I'm still trying to figure out when I'll be able to fly out there for the memorial service, so right now I'm playing the waiting game...hoping some people will get back to me with info before I can finalize stuff. Watching and reading various things have been a good distraction, at least.

Tomorrow I'll be flying out to WA with Nitro for my Dad's service on Saturday. I'm not a huge fan of flying, but at least I'll get to see my family again for a little while, so that'll be good.

That's good. I wasn't able to fly back to America on such short notice. They buried Mom fast, especially because she had requested not to be preserved. Fortunately, nobody in the family thought any less of me for not attending.
