It is certainly a nice time to be in Japan. Here in Shizuoka-ken, the sakura are in full bloom. The ume/plum trees are over, the white sakura type of trees are mostly over, but the pink ones are in full bloom. I moved to Fuji a year ago, and I didn't know where to go to see the sakura. So, I missed them last year. This time, however, I know where to go.

My favorite is at night, when the lanterns are lit up. I took this picture below on my regular SLR camera many years ago, so sorry this scan isn't as pretty as it should be.

ooooh, so pretty! ^0^ Someday I'd love to be able to visit Japan in the Hanami season.

It's my favorite time of year. People go to the park en masse, and get completely drunk.... for two weeks!
