The blog has a post on each year of anime since 1953 and is up to 1987 right now. I haven't read much of it yet but it looks pretty darn cool. Figured you guys would appreciated it.

Re: Cool blog about the last 50 years of anime
I wrote the entry for 1969. It's irritating because I had included commentary about contemporary Japanese tokusatsu/SF film and the year's anime FLYING PHANTOM SHIP and PUSS IN BOOTS , but it got edited out. Meanwhile 1986's entry includes the Transformers movie (?!) and Project A-Ko, and that sails past Geoff (the editor). There's no justice.
Still, it was fun to write and I found out a bunch of stuff about 1969's anime that I had no clue about. Most of the rest of the entries are top-notch, well worth a read.

Fun as some of that stuff was on that blog, to get a real insight of what was going on behind the scenes in Japan, I just happened to click on the link and went here:

Just a heads up that Dave Merrill and a few others are mentioned in the latest ANNCast:
Longtime anime writer Geoff Tebbetts, curator/editor of the Golden Ani-Versary Project, which has a multitude of incredible writers covering each year of a 50-year span of anime history, joins us to chat up the project and dive in to his results.
