The Old School Otaku Lounge

So a while back, I had an idea for a podcast: Go back & watch anime I haven't seen in probably 10 years and see if I feel the same way now about them as I did then, while reviewing them. I made a pilot episode a while back, and while I got positive feedback, I had to put it on hold for a while because of real life stuff.

But! Now I'm getting ready to launch it for real. And not just exclusively for review stuff, either--I thought it would be fun to occasionally have guests on the podcast to talk not just about older anime in general, but also maybe the history around the American anime/manga industry, early stuff about fandom, even convention stuff. I figured I know enough people who've been into anime and whatnot as long as I have (or longer!), so it would be easy to find friends who'd interested enough to record with me. ;D I'm hoping to have the first real episode recorded in the next month or so, and to try to make it a monthly (or at least regularly) thing. (Hey, I'd even love to talk with some of the members here, if anyone would be interested! )

At first I had a page set up on Blogspot: http://animenostalgia.blogspot.com/ But recently I decided it would be fun to also have a Tumblr account were, in between podcast episodes, I could post news, images, music, whatever: http://animenostalgia.tumblr.com/ I think of the Tumblr as a supplement to the blog/podcast, basically. Feel free to watch/add it! I made sure to link this forum (as well as post about it) and added some links to here and various other places. Any suggestions for more links I should add, feel free to let me know. ;D

Aww, thank you, Ryoran! I'm already working on more episodes, too! The next guest I'm having will be for an episode all about Sailor Moon and what we hope to see (or not see) in the new series being made. :3 I'm not sure if that'll be the next ep, I might do a review ep for the next one.
