In The Theaters
I know most people here aren't in Tokyo (or Osaka) but do visit. Dreampass is not a bad site to see if they'll be showing a classic anime while you're on a trip. I recently saw Akira in the theater, and Patlabor 2 before that. I missed the original Patlabor (although it's playing in Osaka later this month) and will unfortunately miss Innocence as well as Castle Cagliostro next month.
They've got a request system which honestly doesn't make tons of sense, but it does show you things that are possibly on the horizon. Most notably now, is Wings of Honneamise. Really hoping that one gets picked and it's not when I have a freakin' work trip.

Thanks for the link! I was wondering how you find out about those showings.

Very stoked.
Re: In The Theaters
Riddick was good. Not great but better than Chronicles, sorta like another version of Pitch Black. Nothing now in my genre list unless I want to see Ender's Game. Since the book came out at a time I was engrossed in anime/manga I missed it so I'm not familiar with it at all. Only went back to reading novels in the past decade or so...
The Wind Also Rises was at the Toronto International Film Festival so I could not see that. No doubt it will not get a general release as it's not the thing most people are familiar with Miyazaki helming. Oh well, a Blu Ray release will have to do...

The Cornetto trilogy!
The World's End is coming to an end (!) at our cinema run, saw it two days ago and it didn't disappoint! Shaun of the Dead means a lot to me as I had just returned to the UK from living in Japan under some crappy circumstances, and this was the first thing I saw upon my return (on DVD). Absolutely hilarious (still is, almost ten years old now, shockingly).
Ofc if you have watched the Scott Pilgrim film adaptation, you will love these (same director!). <3

Re: In The Theaters
I need to see at least 2 movies in the theater before next week.
Might do one Friday. Gonna have to find the right mindset for kazetachinu.
