The "Check this item out on eBay" Thread

The roughly mid-90's and earlier (generally pre-Toonami, pre-anime boom) era of anime & manga fandom: early cons, clubs, tape trading, Nth Generation VHS fansubs, old magazines & fanzines, fandubs, ancient merchandise, rec.arts.anime, and more!

Found this through a friend on Facebook - not really an item but a WHOLE list of them.

Yes, you too can now own a piece of Carl Macek's Estate.

Ya know what? I can believe 100% every single thing there was owned by Macek. It just fits.

Someone here better grab that Harlock press book. That shit needs to be preserved.

Sorry, poster.

I note a complete lack of Queen of a 1000 Years in what I can read. :)

Thanks for posting about the Carl Macek listings. I picked up a Dirty Pair comic and Lupin III "Mystery of Mamo" VHS.

I've also picked up several items from the Carl Macek estate listings, including a couple of film reels used to produce the English version of Lensman and sealed tapes of Robot Carnival, Lensman, and Twilight of the Cockroaches.

I can't believe I missed out on that Captain Harlock press poster! :o

Been a while since I've been looking around at anime stuff but I'm back on my "I should sell some stuff" BS again...

I found this the other day in a Facebook group; I'll try to share the link but it may be off-limits if you're not in the group, definitely if you're off Facebook.

But jeeze ...

10 tapes, not even a full collection, for $700 + shipping. Collector's market is nuts, apparently and I need to start asking for more money apparently.

YEAH the anime VHS market is kinda nuts right now. Even more nuts is the vintage anime T-shirt market--I've seen some people trying to sell old anime shirts for $1,000?!? If people are actually paying that much for them, I regret getting rid of some of my old t-shirts back in the day, lmao.
