This guy on Yahoo Voices is saying what I've been thinking of ever since I've heard of the upcoming Guardians of the Galaxy --- for Fox to make a Starjammers movie to tie-in with their X-Men licensing!

Still waiting for Japanese film companies to commit to much more long term planning and international thinking when it comes to film production. I may be dead before it happens though...

Does Fox also have the rights to Starjammers as well?

Starjammers is a part of the X-Men franchise since it is a spin off, so by all rights they should have the property license to any spin off series such as Generation X, X-Factor, X-Force and such. They're going to make a stand alone Gambit movie, and such. There's nothing to stop them from making a Cable or a Deadpool movie, either (the latter was rumored to have one, but I don't know about that anymore).

Good timing on this article - I remember reading a bit of Starjammers when I was younger and really enjoying it. Had been considering searching around for it and reading it a bit again. Some of that was prompted by Guardians of the Galaxy advertising; I never read Guardians and even now still have a pretty foggy memory of it, maybe seeing it on a shelf at a comic book store or something. Don't really have any desire to see it. But Starjammers, I would be interested in checking out.

Go see Guardians. You'll like it.

Guardians will premiere in Japan September 13th. I definitely plan to see it!

Sucks other countries in the region already have it. I'll probably see it 2 or 3 times. I remember waiting like six months for Avengers and I saw it like 5 times.
