I never did get the second volume of Space Cobra.

So who is this "Bayview Entertainment" that is releasing Gundam Unicorn? Is this one of those former ADV branch-offs? I have the first one through Bandai, but they're kaput.

If you missing the second volume, the separate DVDs are also on sale, not just the bundle. :D

Y'know, I'm not sure. Rightstuf is the distributor for Unicorn, so Bayview might've been the recording studio for the dub? It's hard to look up because there seems to be quite a few things called "Bayview Entertainment" when you Google it.

A few more things added to TRSI's sale of note:

CardCaptor Sakura manga bundle - $39.98 http://www.rightstuf.com/i/bundleh1405
Nadia: Secret of Blue Water Complete blu-ray - $39.99 http://www.rightstuf.com/i/sfbnbw100
Battle Royale (live-action) blu-ray - $7.99 http://www.rightstuf.com/i/bd23767
Fushigi Yuugi Complete bundle - $59.99 http://www.rightstuf.com/i/bundleh1402
Stabber Orphen Complete series - $17.49 http://www.rightstuf.com/i/sfop200
Time Bokan: Royal Revival blu-ray - $11.99 http://www.rightstuf.com/i/sfbtbo010
Yu Yu Hakusho seasons are $17.99 each for blu-ray, $11.99 each DVD - http://www.rightstuf.com/i/fun05988

The Cobra bundle temps me sorely. That's basically 'buy one get one free' isn't it?.

I don't know about this Bayview stuff, but I can at least vouch for the quality of the Gundam Unicorn DVDs being the exact same as the Bandai ones. The change in distributor brought absolutely zero changes to the format and quality of the product compared to the Bandai releases.

Animal Treasure Island is something I've always wanted to pick up.

Yeah, from what I've heard, basically there was no change in who worked on it when TRSI picked it up. That's why I wonder if Bayview was just the name they gave to the people who were once with Bandai? Either way, I was glad that the rest of Unicorn's release was seamless.

Wow, OK, time for school. :)

TRSI, like every other online company, relies on information provided by whoever supplies the goods. And then someone has to enter that information into the database.

TRSI, like every other online company, seems completely unable to have an overseer, a manager, an editor, to make sure said information is consistent and correct and most of all, accurate to the INTENT of what is required and desired.

In this case, 'Bayview' is most likely whatever fulfillment house is currently handling Bandai's remaining inventory. I note nobody seems confused by the fact that some of the Gundam Unicorn discs are listed as being from HONNEAMISE . Honneamise wouldn't even be correct as fulfillment was being handled by Image Entertainment.

There was similar confusion way back in the day. People wondered who the heck was making Star Blazers on VHS and later DVD, because the product was listed as coming from 'Tapeworm'. Well, Tapeworm was a production house that made product for smaller companies, and LOTS of kung-fu from Tai Seng. Westchester Films, and later Voyager Entertainment Inc. was still 'in charge' but the physical production and fulfillment to retail was the work of Tapeworm.

And an editor would catch that, if anybody used one. the 'publisher' field for Gundam UC should read 'Honneamise/Bandai Entertainment' no matter who was actually selling the discs to TRSI. The low paid data entry person just looked at the invoice and typed Bayview for that specific disc.

No change of anything, folks. No new player in the field. Just sloppy data entry.

Sorry for getting all lecture-y. I have a bad habit of doing that. Some have said I should be a teacher but man, I'd want to smack sense into the kids and that's not allowed anymore. :)

I will add this. It's possible 'Bayview' is a new shell company set up by TRSI to manage the Bandai licenses, but I can't see the need for that as they already have Nozumi and I think another one. And see below, it's not. :)

But what I want to know, where did the original poster FIND 'Bayview'? I clicked on every single Gundam Unicorn release at Right Stuf and never found it. I saw Honneamise, Bandai, Sunrise but no Bayview.

Ahhh, Amazon listing. Bayview Ent/Widowmaker.

And this http://www.bayviewentertainment.com/ proves everything I said. Basically a 'jobber' or 'one-stop' distro company. Spiritual brother to Tapeworm. :)

Yeah, I suspected as much about "Bayview". I was basically too lazy to really try to investigate it, though. If it was really a "new" company, we would have heard more about it by now.
