IMAI/Bandai 1:100 Missile Phalanx Destroid from Macross

This is a Bandai repop of the old IMAI kit, released in the '90s for the 15th anniversary of Macross.
I typically use lacquer paints, but it looks like I'll be using acrylics for this build. I was looking at the instruction page scan of the 1:72 Wave kit from the Hobby Search 1999 website, and it says to paint the body color a mixture of Mr. Color wood brown, tan, and sail color or something like that. But the instructions for this IMAI/Bandai kit says to use the Middle Stone color. I had bought that color for pilot seats as per Hasegawa's instructions for F-14 Tomcats and Valkyries, and I think it is a close match. I actually used a mixture of Middle Stone and Sail Color for this kit's main color. The Bandai/IMAI instructions call for Rubber Black for the dark trim, while the Wave instructions call for dark green. Well, I think I will use Tamiya's Dark Iron instead. I've been meaning to give that color a try.
I used Gaia Notes' Silver Primer on this kit, and now that the main body color has been painted, I plan to use the GSI Creos Mr. Chipping Rubber Block. It looks like a rubber eraser, although harder and courser. It is designed to be rubbed against surface paint to reveal the paint layer underneath. I've never used it, but I am sure it will work better with acrylics than with lacquers. I'll rub it against the hard corners and see if it produces a worn effect.
Here is a link to a Tumblr page for this build.
