I believe it is a movie...seems interesting. I should try to see if I can rent it.

Oddly, the release has been on Netflix for some time. If you enjoy scifi and can forgive cg/cel-shade animation, then have a look.
The story outlines the contention between a VR/cybernetic society of off-world "souls" and the surviving, biological populace on the surface. The latter seem right out of a post-apoc 80's OVA.

I have seen it some time ago. It is worth seeing. It is something similar to Battle Angel Alita storyline. It is as lab sempai described.
