Re: How many of us kept their old collections?

I think with the recent popularity of JoJo's Bizarre Adventure, more people might be ready to appreciate Sakigake Otoko Juku. (^_^) I feel like Otokojuku is something everyone appreciates, when they are exposed to it, but only in minimal (and usually lacking full context) doses. I'll admit, I'm onl...

Re: Kodanasha Bilingual Love Hina

Kodansha did quite a few manga releases Bilingually, although they weren't super easy to get, so they stopped eventually. I have a few different vols of various series, including Great Teacher Onizuka. I never got into Love Hina, so I don't know much about that specific release though. I was going ...

Re: Twilight of the Cockroaches?

I think someone out there has it and doesn't know about it. Its a matter of not if , but when someone puts that online. Oh yeah - sorry - I should have said that I believe the same. Someone out there should have it and I hope that they can realize they have it, get it uploaded and Turner doesn't ma...

Re: How many of us kept their old collections?

Does that include the movies? I don't think I've seen them on Amazon or Rightstuf. Pioneer/Geneon released those in the US years ago. You can probably find used copies for cheap on E-bay. The old Pioneer/Geneon DVD releases are actually still going for a lot on the second-hand market because people...

Re: Twilight of the Cockroaches?

I'm kinda waiting on someone online though some websites I'm part of to upload these airings of Night of the Vampire Robots recordings. From what I gather, these made up late night content for Cartoon Network other than Space Ghost in the mid 90's, and 6 years before the Adult Swim block came on TV...

Re: The World of Gekkan OUT

Really cool find - been flipping through some of the pages. It was nice to see lots of Samurai Trooper stuff in the late 1988 issues. Even went back to the pages that had the magazine from my birth-month and nice fun to see lots of cool stuff - Urusei Yatsura, Dunbine, Xabungle, Crusher Joe and Fina...

Re: Twilight of the Cockroaches?

It was on Cartoon Network as part of their "Night of the Vampire Robots" (where they showed that, Vampire Hunter D, and Robot Carnival). Thanks for the info! I wonder what the story behind that is... Twilight of the Cockroaches seems like an odd choice for the Cartoon Network. CN Night of the Vampi...

Re: What are you Reading?

oh sounds fun Drew! I like Makoto Kobayashi's style, I'd never heard of this one before :D It's a fairly recent work, only starting in 2016 and I don't really know how well seinen sports manga do in the scanlation scene but I imagine that no one is beating down Kodansha's door for a license. I was ...

Re: What are you Reading?

Did some shopping after my birthday last week and picked up some manga from Amazon.co.jp and started reading one immediately - JJM: Joshi Judobu Monogatari - Girls' Judo Club Story. I'd looked up manga based on Judo (since I'm completely nuts about it) and saw that it was short - only 3 volumes (so ...

Cool write-up - always like seeing the guest and panels lists from these much older events, even if they make me sad I wasn't able to attend.
