Re: It's Back - Akihabara Renditions

New podcast dropped yesterday! Richard has dragged me, again, kicking and screaming into the modern times, for a look at Gundam Thunderbolt: Bandit Flower. Download here! or from your favorite podcast provider!

Re: battlin' fandoms

The experience of filling video rooms and event halls with anime screenings at these conventions convinced us that Japanese anime fandom could be its own thing, but actually getting the space and time and equipment to host these screenings from convention organizers was like pulling teeth. We were ...

Re: Animanga Nuzu

While I first came across his work thanks to the Seiyuu Database (and his other webpages at usagi.org) but much later, I came across his summaries posted to UseNet. I didn't know he wrote for fanzines, too but I imagine that whatever he wrote there wasn't too much different than on UseNet or his si...

Re: The Anime of Yesteryear Blog/Podcast

But do you agree with my view that there needs to be a Kelly's Heroes version of Gundam? Not sure if it would be my exact cup of tea but there are worse things Gundam has done! I dunno if you made it through our KickVic discussion or not. I did not. I only skimmed to find the Gundam NT chat t...

Re: Animanga Nuzu

I have no idea that Hitoshi Doi also wrote for fanzines beside his work at the Seiyuu Database. While I first came across his work thanks to the Seiyuu Database (and his other webpages at usagi.org) but much later, I came across his summaries posted to UseNet. I didn't know he wrote for fanzines, t...

Re: The Anime of Yesteryear Blog/Podcast

Finally got around to listening to the Gundam NT portion of the podcast - it sounds like your review of it is similar to what I heard other people talking about on the Internet - it's a weirdly paced mess and is otherwise un-notable in an expanding mid-late UC canon. It seems like everyone is waitin...

Re: It's Back - Akihabara Renditions

Opted not to have an edited note about the new name in the last podcast that dropped here but we have a bit in the next episode. It's still on the editing block, haven't had the time with family shenanigans lately to get it finalized and up for release. Hopefully this weekend. I also dropped another...

Re: The Anime Nostalgia Podcast & Blog

New short ReView ep! To celebrate wrasslemania, here's a weird wrassling anime XD https://animenostalgia.blogspot.com/2019/04/the-anime-nostalgia-podcast-ep-74.html Just listened to this on the way home last night, was a good episode though I am not sure that even being a passive wrestling fan make...

Re: Animeigo got Megazone 23!

Very excited to see this on BR; hoping that its all of the parts and not just the good ones ;) Also, bonus feature with Sean/zimmerit about Omega Road 23 based off his recent research would be rad as hell, too.

Re: Older fans – what is your take on anime and anime fandom today?

Are you still involved in the community? Why or why not? With a Balkanized and non-monolithic fandom, I would emphatically say yes, I'm still involved. However, that involvement isn't what it once was where I am out there evangelizing or signing up for every/any general anime forum on the Internet....
