TRS's annual holday sales!

Post by usamimi »

TRS has their first 2 waves of holiday sales up now: http://www.rightstuf.com/rssite/main/ho ... kFriday01/

Some notable "older" picks from both waves:

Armitage III Complete Saga - $14
Jubei-Chan Complete series - $10
Utena Movie Soundtrack - $2
Fushigi Yuugi part 2 - $17.50
Kare Kano Complete Series - $16
Kare Kano Soundtrack 1 - $2
Irresponsible Captain Tylor Complete Series w/holiday art bundle - $40
Revolutionary Girl Utena Complete Series - $87
Ushio & Tora - $5

I REALLY wish I could get that complete Tylor bundle because that's a great price for the TV series & OAVs together (plus you get a lithograph and postcards, which is kinda neat), but Ive still got Christmas shopping to finish. :/

They have good deals on some newer stuff, too, so check it out. Sales end Dec 2nd, I believe. Wave 3 will be up on Thanksgiving, I think.

It's a GREAT deal, considering I paid about $120-ish all together with shipping for all 3 separate box sets, iirc.

Wave 3 (the final part of their sale!) just went up this morning, and WOW. Some GREAT deals, including:

The Rose of Versailles complete bundle - $48
ALL of Ghost Sweeper Mikami - $39 (you have to purchase all the box sets separately, but this is an exceptional deal as I've never seen the box sets that cheap online EVER)
DBZ "Rock the Dragon" set - $50
Blue Seed thinpak collection - $13
Ghost in the Shell 2.0 - DVD $6, blu-ray $8
Battle Angel DVD - $7
Lone Wolf & Cub omnibus 1 or 2 - $10 e
Tokyo Babylon omnibus 1 or 2 - $10 e
To Terra... vols 1, 2, & 3 -$6 e

and of course they have newer stuff for sale, too, but again, these are some of the older things that stood out to me.
Sale ends Dec 2nd (and some items have a counter next to them, so while supplies last, lol.)

NO. WAY. I wish I had seen this earlier! I will need to look at this immediately after work, but I don't have internet access at home for the next week since I am upgrading to fiber optic. I'll have to go to the Internet cafe ASAP tonight!

I'm legitimately SUPER SAD that all the money I have right now is for xmas gifts, because I REALLY want those GS Mikami box sets and I know they'll probably never be that cheap again. :( But I'm glad at least someone else out there is excited about that, lol.

I snagged all four GS Mikami box sets last night, which was fortunately still early December 2nd in the USA. Shipping to Japan came out to be a bit expensive ($24 or so), but in the end they were still way cheaper than if I had bought them when they first came out. It's fantastic that they are Japanese dialogue-only, so that means I don't have to switch from English to Japanese whenever I play them. My region-free DVD player keeps wanting to switch back to English dialogue after the first episode on an anime DVD for some reason. Not all DVDs, but many of them. It's annoying. I should just upgrade to an HDMI region-free player anyway.

So I came home from running errands yesterday to find a box from TRS...I opened it very confused and discovered that a friend of mine bought Ghost Sweeper for me as an early xmas gift! ;A; I was so floored, and totally excited! I can't wait to watch the series over again...it's been a long time. I recently just watched the first 2 episodes on Toei's official Youtube channel, but having the DVDs will be so much easier to watch. XD

Getting back on track, TSR actually decided to EXTEND their Black Friday sales into their 12 Days of Savings sales! So you can still get those sale prices while their supplies last.

I've been posting deals they've been listing for their 12 Days of Savings on The Anime Nostalgia Tumblr, but for those who don't follow, here's some more stuff they have on sale:

Black Magic M-66 DVD $7.99
Dragon Ball Movie complete collection remastered $16.44
Dragon Ball seasons 1-5 DVD sets $16.44 each
Appleseed ID Artbook $7.49
Kiki’s Delivery Service Artbook $17.49
My Neighbor Totoro Artbook $17.50
Berserk manga bundles - 10 books for $74.99
Berserk manga vols 1-37 on sale separately for $7.79 or less each
Boogiepop Phantom complete $15.99
Boogiepop Phantom 2-CD Soundtrack $4.19
Boogiepop Phantom: Music inspired by Boogiepop & Others CD $1.99
Excel Saga complete $23.49
Sorcerous Stabber Orphen complete (seasons 1+2) $17.49
Patlabor OAV collection Blu-ray $15.99, DVD $11.99
The Astro Boy Essays by Fred Schodt $8.48
Case Closed (Detective Conan) Seasons 1-5 $14.99 each
Dirty Pair TV series complete bundle $39.99
Dragon Ball Z TV Seasons 1-9 $16.44 each
Grave of the Fireflies Blu-ray $10.49, DVD $6.99
Patlabor TV Series Parts 1 & 2 Blu-ray $27.99, DVD $23.99 each
Ghost in the Shell Special Edition DVD $5.99
Magic Knight Rayearth manga omnibuses vols 1 & 2 $9.99 each
Megazone 23 Complete Collection $14.99
Dragon Ball Z Movie collections 1-3 $14.09 each
Dragon Ball Z movie blu-rays 1-11 $16.44 each
Milky Way Railroad novel $7.99
Ninja Scroll blu-ray $8.74, DVD $5.24
Paradise Kiss manga (Vertical editions) vols 1-3 $9.98 each
Slayers seasons 1-3 Funimation Box Set $28.19
Trigun complete series $19.99
Yu Yu Hakusho seasons 1-4 blu-ray $21.14 each, DVD $14.09 each
Yu Yu Hakusho Movie + Eizou Hakusho $14.09

Some so-so deals, but a lot of good ones, too (less than $10 for Ninja Scroll on blu-ray, for example!)

Also, not TRS-related, but Amazon has all their Ghibli titles for 50% off until tomorrow, too. http://www.amazon.com/gp/feature.html?i ... 1001911331

Lucky! Was it the complete series, or just the first box? Mine has not yet arrived from America. I started downloading the fansubs several years ago before it was licensed, but I lost track of it. I watched the first few episodes about 2 years ago, and I liked it and decided to just get the DVDs. Since my daughter loves ghosts and monsters, I bet she will enjoy watching the show with me.

It's the complete series! All 4 "boxes" (they're just single DVD cases with 2 DVDs in each). :D

It's a shame you can't watch Toei's American Youtube channel...they have the entire series up subtitled in English, which I thought was pretty cool.

More older stuff added to TRSI's sale:

Nausicaa Watercolor Impressions Art Book $17.49
Sakura Wars Complete TV series $10.49
Beast King GoLion (the original Voltron!) complete bundle $19.99
Dragon Ball GT Complete series $32.89
FLCL Complete series, Blu-ray $21.14, DVD $18.79
Project A-ko 2 Graphic Novel $2.99
Those Who Hunt Elves complete collection $13.99
Satoshi Kon: The Illusionist by Andrew Osmond $9.49
Angel Sanctuary DVD $3.99
Call Me Princess graphic novel vol 1 $2.99
Initial D seasons 1-4 $14.09 each
Porco Rosso Art Book (hardcover) $17.49
Kazuo Umezu’s Scary Book manga vols 1-3 $6.99 each
Serial Experiments Lain Complete DVD/Blu-ray combo pack $32.49

Gotta say...I'm not really a Voltron fan, but even I'm contemplating getting that GoLion bundle just because it's so cheap.
